I have a question....sometimes when I read a ball review, ther reviewer sometimes mentioned something like this ball goes longer than another ball before it hooks in to the pocket. What does he meant when he said "the ball goes longer then another ball" ?
Can someone explain the meaning of that ? if you normally play the secoond arrow to the pocket so for a "longer ball", can you still play the same target ? Thanks !

it means that the ball will skid more down the lane so it doesn't hook prematurely. in other words, what the example you've shown means that the ball will skid further down the lane, and at the back end, it will 'snap' (hook) into the pocket.

target is 'dead'. the bowler is 'alive'. so yes, you can still play the same target, and if need be, you just need to adjust your starting position to get the ball into the pocket.

Thanks for the explanation...do you move in (towards the centre) or out at the starting position with the same target ?

we need to see your current ball and bowling pattern first. it's hard to tell you now whether you should move left or right.

for e.g., if your current ball doesn't hook much, then with this new 'longer' (with higher hook potential) ball, then you move left to compensate for the hook. the target (2nd arrow) should remain the same.
