Seems like both the Attitude and the Gravity can be used for medium to heavy oil but one is pearlised and the other is solid. So Coach what will be the difference in reaction from this 2 balls ?

Attitude Shift
Coverstock: R2S™ Solid Reactive
Weight Block: SHAPE-LOCK™ (14-16 pounds)
Ball Color: Scarlet/Navy/Sky All colors do vary somewhat from the picture shown.
Fragrance: Cranberry Orange
Ball Finish: 2000-grit Abralon
RG Differential: 0.053 (Medium-High Flare) on a scale of .000-.080 Low Flare-High Flare
RG Average: 2.55 (Medium) on a scale of 2.43-2.80 Very Low-High Break Point
Recommended Lane Conditions: Medium to Heavy Oil

although the suitable conditions for the 2 balls are medium to heavy
but according to performance
oob(out of box) condition wise,

the attitude will be more inclined to heavy whereas the gravity will be more inclined towards medium

nowadasy they dun make balls for just one type of condition only like last time where its usually the pearlised surface for medium to medium dry and the solid for medium to heavy

and in the past usually soild colours are finished at around 800-1000grit

and the pearlise is around 1200-1500

but now they are coming out with 2000 solid( for attitude) and 4000 solid( for secret agent, sure fire etc)

i have the sure fire(4000 medium oil) n attitude( 2000 medium heavy) but than oob with comparsion of the 2,sure fire handles carry down better than the attitude, whereas the attitude is better at counter medium to medium heavy with clean backend

but if you were to compare sure fire with the pyro (both fireline),it handles carry down better than the sure fire cos of how the core is set ...both same core but inverted the core for sure fire and diff cover stock

omg i think i can go on and on for this ...

at the end of the day
its either the core or the coverstock that makes the diff for a ball

and if i m not wrong, storm has the most diff type of coverstock right now

so at the end of the day its still what sort of lane condition the equipment is being matched up to

no problem for mi i am just telling what i observe both as a bowler as well as a coach

though i maybe using sotrm balls as a comparison but than, other ball manufacturers are all about the same,

its just a matter of personal preference what ball brand to use only

and of course there are pple who go for a particular type of ball finish only w/o paying attn to the brand

so like i say,the bowler is the one making the choices

So am i right to say the conclusion is the grit-polish statistic stated by ball manufacturers will only tells the appearance of the ball and not so much on how the ball reactive down the lane?
