But still, generally, those top JC students r clever de lor.
Now de A's, everyone is like scoring straight A's. Even I wan to go die le!
wonder wat happens in the future... Nxt time nv straight As cant get into uni le. The grade A may be categorize into Standard 1 de A, Standard 2 de A, etc |

p/s my mother was from SP and didn't manage to enter university due to poor grades. | | | | | LoL. the time is different now, Many things have changed. I believe poly used to be the last resort for students who cant enter jc in the past. But this is not the case now. I tink as long as u're really capable u can surely make it into a local uni from poly. n do rmb don treat poly as a slacking ground.. cos if u slack u're definitely not gonna to be successful.. but pls oso bear in mind that poly students only stand a chane of only 15% . This thread looks more like a fighting ground between poly students n jc students to promote their own sch rather than giving advices..heh.. To me, I tink both jc route n poly route are fine as long as u're willing to work hard so I tink u shd choose the education path base on the learning style that u prefer. All the best for ur 'o' ya.

As long as people don't get all worked up.
It's good to see each side trying give some constructive and frank comments. How harsh or negative the comments are shouldn't be an issue. If you post some views of your own and people feel offended and try to counter, it will just generate more useful ideas, views, suggestions and opinons for TS to discover more about each side. At the end of the day, if your advice makes a good impact on TS, you have given good advice and not just some one-liner comment kinda of stuffs (of course, one liners arnt wrong). |

for jc, your brain must really be able to take a lot of information. They just dump you with a whole lot of information (mayb it's just my school) and you have to memorise. There's not much time to really understand the concepts. So if you'rs the person who rather "understand" than "memorise", JC is NOT the choice for you.
As for poly, i'm not so sure. However, i heard that more places in the uni are opened to poly grads now. Because more O levels grads are choosing to go poly.
If you already decide on what you want to do in the future, i advise you to go poly. Because the subjects taken in JC doesn't really help you in the future (or me, at least)
I'm planning to go into accountancy, so i don't see how phy and chem will help me. Even most parts of maths seems redundant. And i make a big mistake by not taking 4H2 when i was given a chance to.
So if you decide to go JC, take 4h2 if you are eligible for it, if you can't cope, you can always drop. But once you choose 3H2, there's no way you can go up to 4H2 |
