but yea run the risk of not able to enter local university if your gpa is poor or loses out to better academically achieved poly students
but if i'm not wrong, local universities do allocate a number of slots for poly students and since your like 3-4 years from graduating from poly, the poly slots might have expanded even more and you might have easier chance to get in
since you are already interested in tourism and quite a number of positive comments about TP tourism course, i guess TP or SP would be your final choice and do remember to take a good cca if you intend to enter a local university...anyway SP has those lame workshops where each session is 1.5hr and nets you 2 cca points! Good Deal! |

| | | | | It's called General Elective Modules. It's like extra learning and stuff. They do not earn you CCA points and is included in your GPA. | Quote: | | | Originally Posted by keroberos11414 | | | | | | i support poly bcoz JC very stressed up n besides they got alot of lectures after lectures... | | | | | Well, I must say that poly isn't that relaxing. JC has lectures after lectures while poly students have projects after projects. (with shittified members) I also think it depends on what course you go into.
By the way, the cut off point for SP tourism management is around 10, and might be lower this year. To take a degree in events management, I heard that SP events staff is trying to sigh some contract with some Australia Uni, (or a America Uni, i cant remb) and that the person who has experienced organizing the Olympics will be teaching..Some famous event director...can't remb his name.

yea poly isn't relaxing...depending on which poly + which course...my course has quite a number of lectures and tons of projects...year 2 was quite packed...abit of time for cca only...year 3 was damm packed due to final year project and cca was non-existant haha...but there was still some breathing space for enjoyment and shopping and games in the lab and whatever you wanna do haha |

Total SGC$: 20,668.09 | Re: Poly Or JC? but don't forget, some poly courses don't let you change your course when you go uni. for example, you take mass comm. in poly. there is only 1 uni with related course, and the cohort is small. if you can't get in, that is it. because for such courses, you don't have the basic requirement needed for other courses like engineering or chemistry major. going JC means keeping all options opened.
as for stress, i believe JC and poly are around the same, just that it is in a different medium. and lectures can be fun! chemistry lectures are entertaining and fun, in my opinion. many people say going JC = bookworm, plain memorising and studying, but that is misconception. nowadays A level papers are no longer that way. you need to learn and UNDERSTAND, and know how to APPLY. that is the fun part, imo. it is cool to know about bond interactions and chemical reactions, and how to apply them in our lives. and for bio students, you get to combine the two subjects together! for some topics, like enzymes. hahahaha. this is what i call play cheat (i always do that)
for JC, we have projects as well. the MAJOR project is PW. you have spend your entire first year doing it, and your PW grade will be calculated in your uni admission points. PW is a flexible subject, 'cos you can choose whatever topic you want to work on, as long as it is within the theme(s) given. and you get to spend time with your teammates, and know them better (for good or for worse, hehe). the rest of the projects are just...... talk-c*** and playing time, LOL. for example, sometimes, for economics, you have to do theory-into-practical projects. nothing much, easy-peasy.
