I'm in a jc, cos i'm not exactly sure about my future - what i wanna do ultimately, and all that.

So meaning you've no clear idea what's your ambition and all? If you already had an ambition in mind, would you say poly's going to be ur option? hehe :biggrin4:

Btw, what JC're you from?

Polytechnics are for specialisation (meaning you already know what you want to go into for work) while JCs are for more generalised education (meaning you go into specialisation at University).

if you alr have an ambition on mind, and poly is the fastest way to achieving it, then go for poly...

for those who are unsure of their future plans, choose jc... you cant go very wrong...

haa. i from private school.
diploma course. so it's kind of like poly eh.
just that the certs aint that recognised.

hmm. personally i think poly's better.
like what many have said - if you know abt what u wanna be in e future.
on the other hand, u can actually choose what course u r interested in, or prefer.

jc is more general. just like what u hv studied in sec sch.

yup, depends on whether you have decide on what you want in life already or not. JC is much more on theory, while Poly also has lots of theory (some contents r a bit on university level), but the syllabi are emphasise on practical and industrial skills. Been through both, so I know.

haha...im from jc so im goin to vote for the jc side... i think JC is tough cos they cramp everything they can on you within 2yrs of studies... but JC students tend to not know wat they want in life or for their uni study cos all we're taught is to cramp cramp cramp and cramp... so must read up ALOT on ur own part...

I think I mentioned it in a previous thread, but anyway...

To put it simply, if you go to JC, you'd want to aim to further your studies in a university later on. An 'A'-level certificate is nothing next to a diploma.

Of course there are those who went to polytechnic after two years in JC, but this group is small in numbers.

Yeah that's true for some courses if you can get good grades (A or distinction) then u can get exempt credits for relevant modules.

Its acutally depend which level you want to move on. For poly students when they finish the course can go out to look for jobs, but JC has to continue to U then can find work easier, but the in the real world a lot of U students can't find easier cos they want higher pay and they also they are big xxxx in the world better tahn others peoples. I study in private sch in interior design at peace centre, which we learn how to deal with cilents needs, concepts and etc. Perpare us to the ral world for battle.
