Playing diff region on Jap Wii with D2cPro Modchip - Singapore's Online Community

I'm gonna buy an original game (NTSC) to play on a Jap wii with the said modchip. Can right?

the answer is yes, but some games require lastest firmware to play and update from a game with diff region than NTSC-J could semi-brick the Wii (cannot go to Setting, but can play game).

If ur Wii have 3.2J then should be fine, even if it ask for update, just let it update about 15%, then unplug the power cord, then plug again then play.

Can you choose not to update then? ie if there's an option for update prompt?

It will ask press OK to update. If no then cannot play leh, unless the 15% trick

Hi. Can you show some sceenshot for the update page?
Cos i'm new for Japan wii also, worry later can not understand japaness.
Update complete also don't know.....
FYI, i'm now in 3.2J, what is the latest version huh? Which game got latest firmware?

The lastest is 3.3, but there is no game use 3.3 yet, so 3.2J is the best. 3.3 is nothing but annoying when it blocked Trucha signed disc and Freeloader.

I think Wii Fit have the lastest one. 3.2J

From what I have gathered here, future game releases will be a pain in my ass and my Wii lol

Oh yah how to know what firmware is ur Wii? Ie what 3.2J thing...how do you know?

click on "Wii" on the main menu, then click on the Spanner pic. you will then see a 3.XJ on top of your top right corner of the screen.

if you saw opera browser error instead, u got ur set semi bricked. =)

Semi brick is not a big deal any more, even the 3.3 is fine now. Now 3.3 can play trucha signed also, but need some more works.
