hey, read this in a newspaper article: the author is a guy and says that from a guy's POV, there's no such thing as platonic relationships, meaning if he's friends with a girl he either likes her or has liked her before and try to get close to her la. then example he give is that his females who he know who have more male friends are more attractive than those without.

lol of course it aint right! how can the author represent the entire male population? he thinks everyone has the same view point as him? absurd! there is always the minority and exceptions.

any history student will know that the author in your case is one-sided, so the essay is biased. there are still men around who can sacrifice physical pleasures for the sake of love, thats what the power of love can do! yeah its true guys are generally more horny than girls, but it doesnt mean we cant live without it, it just needs a greater willpower. also, some men have a disinterest in sensual pleasures.

the media has done a lot to glorify the topic of sex. u see cases of rape, under age sex, etc, and with porn, AVs, all the related stuff u can think of, it has somehow merged with our lives. the society is more liberal, and sex is becoming something kind of basic. nowadays, how many by the age of 18 are virgins? actually its nothing wrong, but its kind of rare for a platonic relationship these days. it takes 2 hands to clap! so both parties must restrain themselves, which is kind of hard, u need mental strength and willpower lol, cuz a moment of folly can set u going... into u know what. but it is still possible

all in all, i feel that platonic relationships are still possible!

On one hand I do have female friends who are just that - friends and nothing more. On the other hand if I got to know a girl for the first time, along my train of thought I would wonder if anything would be possible between the two of us. Sad but true, I've been alone for so long, it's hard not to feel this way.

nope. definitely not. wat makes u think there might be a chance it is in the first place? :confused2:

1stly, being single or not doesn't haf any relation to whether a guy watches porn or not.

2ndly n most imptly, I think the presence of internet connection, private personal PC etc. weighs better as a gauge of whether someone has the tendency to watch porn then age n bgr status.

i believe it is possible to remain as just friends, even very good friends.

but i think that along the way, one party has probably liked the other romantically before. just that time wasn't right or the feeling wasn't reciprocated and so they remained just good friends.
