Winson Lim, 43, frequents the company's warehouse every year to buy Bak Kwa for the season and he was surpised when he saw this costume among the goods.
Tan Cheng Kwee, 22, the Sales and Marketing Manager of the company said that the ornament was custom-made when the company was first set up.
The lion's head was replaced with a pig's head because of its relation to what they were selling: bak kwa- which means "barberqueued pork slices".
Mr. Tan added, "From what I can recall, I remember that the ornament was used for a lion dance performance once and I think it was some time back. Also, since we're embracing the pig year this time round, we decided to take it out to decorate the shop." | | | | |
