Default Particular Eboot file encounter strange problems.

I just got a eboot file which is final fantasy 8, i believe it was from ps1.

I load it into psp\game\ directory and i was able to view the game and start the game from the menu.

However in the game menu, with the options "start" & "Continue". I choose start and everything juz went black... not sure what should i do, i waited for quite sometime as i thought it was loading but nothing happen.

Anyone encounter this before? if so, mind sharing the work around to get it to work?

Thanks!

What psp and what firmware?
Just to make sure.. the PSX games have to be in GAME folder inside the PSP folder you see
then make sure the kernel is same as you play iso and cso

EDit: does your PSX game has a Key file?

Just some points for you to trouble shoot,
1) how big is the eboot file? (the game has 4cds)
2) ur psp version?

Overall I shall say, it's complicated.

The TS can load the game but goes black after the menu,
nothing to do with the kernel.

well you need a programme that can combine eboots into one.

For psx games to psp, the eboot file has to be with the key file on a GAME folder but eboot and key file. you need to make a folder and the folder has to be name to the game name. as eboot and key file can appear or load without a folder or appear as corrupted data.

It's over 2gb, single file.

PSP is on 3.90m33 SLIM

btw, i found the problem, i saw the popsloader's page on psp-hacks and it indicated the ff8 intro movie cause the black screen thingy. only way to bypass was using 3.71 firmware i think. at least to my best understanding
