Only one interview date

Hi all,

I always came across some big companies like the Hospital / Health Care / Airport they only have one interview date.

Sometime that date given either you have sometime urgent like your relative / love ones funeral / wake or you are working and not possible to take leave and you miss the oppotunities in working in the enviroment you always wanted.

They just tell you too bad and hang up. Sometimes i don't understand why they don't have any flexible dates like other company.

theyre trying to see if ure committed? first impressions almost matter the most i guess... seriously to them, a few days is already a lot to waste if they do really wanna find employees... u just said airport, hospital and big companies.... big companies mean a lot of employees wanna go in.... so maybe they should get the best of the best?

no offence but most of the time they give us attitude if we really got something important, they treat is like some typical excuse.... well that's life....

Well, it's their company culture.

My company also does the same to potential candidates. They just put down the phone if the candidate failed to agree on the date.

But when you intend to change job if every company practice the same thing how to change job...

Its just too bad,
how can they hold another interview JUST for you, basically you should be more anxious than they are lahs, lols.

Big companies usually have many rounds of interviews. In order to get a potential employee fast, i guess it is easier for them to conduct in one day. That way they can fix the date for the second interview earlier.

Afterall, it's so many people fighting for that one job. No point holding the interview for so many days.

mayb because it's a really hot job?

alot of people will go for the interview

and to cut down the hassle they put it on the "take it or leave it" day.

It is not a HOT job it will hire ppl every month / every year but they say their interviewer is only free on that date for the whole month / whole year...
