I bought my laptop from school during matriculation fair
& a company selling the insurance for laptop set up a booth at the fair too.
so i thought it was good to buy an insurance to cover for any damages that is not covered by the warrenty.

my laptop is a fugitsu livebook.
& i paid $62.85 for my laptop insurance

they gave a scenario that if laptop is stolen or LCD screen cracked.
i can claimed up to a certain amount of money
so i thought i needed the insurance for my laptop

oNE damn day, my laptop clip holding the laptop & the lcd screen together was broken accidentally.

i called the service centre.& to change the clip,it is about $30++.for them to help me change the clip,it will amount to over hundred dollars.

so i rem i bought insurance for laptop & called them up.
SURPRISINGLY.
I cannot claimed the money from the damage of the clip.
WHICH MEANS.I HAVE TO PAY $100+++ FOR A NEW CLIP MYSELF.

SO it is not advisable to buy any insurance for your laptop,
u cannot make a claim if your laptop is stolen.when you have no 1 attending to your laptop.
come to think about it,
if theres some1 looking after your laptop ,will it be stolen?

& Your LCD do not crack for no reason.

So do not buy insurance.
what i waste of money

$62.85 could have bought me a good meal otherwise.

THINK twice b4 buying a insurance for UR laptop.

did they give a reason why you couldn't claim for that clip??

maybe have to read every fine print before you pay for such services..

read the clauses again and counter them if needed. If still cannot bring the situation to Case and they will solve it for you

i can only claimed if the repair is more than $250
meaning if repair is a minor 1.
icannot claim anithing.
SO if you are the careful sort of person.DO NOT BUY INSURANCE for your laptop.
come to think of it.felt really stupid to actually pay $60 over dollars for the insurance.so heng i nv buy 2 years insurance,hahahah

true leh,the service centre alot ppl.i went there twice.
I reformatted my laptop,
then the disc drive cannt read the recovery cd when it reached 51%.

I TRIED to restart plenty of time.
den i gave up & call the service centre.which is of not much of a help.
then I went to IT COOP.the service guy change a discdrive for me.
then he said that he changed quite a number of discdrive for that brand alr.
i m not sure if its the same model.

then i went home & do the reformatting again.
& the problem is still there.
& so
i called the service centre@IT COOP & tell them i had changed the disc drive & there is still problem.

he said,if we do the recovery for you,you need to pay for the service.(i think he said $16)

bUT i really felt that he did not understood what i had told him.

So i went to the service centre near cityhall mrt there.& left my laptop there for a few days.
after that the service centre called me to bring a driver disc or something like that to the service centre.

I went down to the service centre the 2nd time,& finally,they solved my problem...
but i waited for v long.due to the long queue there.& theres 1 irritating uncle.who kept complaining to the desk ger abt his damn problem.He refused to adhere to the advise & solution ruled out by the people @ the service centre.& he kept saying tht his time is precious & the ppl wasting his time telling him the same thing & did not solve his problem.
Stupid uncle.If his time is precious,he would have got himself a new laptop instead of going down to the service centre & kept on bugging on them.& didnt want to listen to them.
I just thought he could have saved his time if he open his ear big big.

what a waste of my time,i had to wait for him to complaint finish den the IT ENgineer can come & help me with my laptop.

paiseh ,i complaint too much hahaha

if u want to buy insurance, it's better to get from the manufactor itself, or the dealer. get the papers black and white. anything wrong, you can sue them for damages. just two cents from me. btw, why is it called insurance rather than warrenty ? i never heard insurance for laptop. lol.

not so.I cant claim because the insurance states that they will pay less $250 in excess.
meaning,for any repair below $250,you cannot claim a single cent.so DO NOT BUY INSURANCE...

im damn pissed that i didnt know i will need small repairs.
i thought if battery or LCD screen spoilt,i only need to pay $250.
