I have a few query on Wii Consol:

1) Hw do I determine which country or version of the Wil Consol (US, UK, JP)?
2) Hw do I kw which game I can play using my Wii
3) Is there 2 version of receiver available (IR & Wireless)?
4) What's the diff between setting the country to US & Brazil?

Hi, I just bought a US Wii console from HK..the girl who sold me the set said something about upgrading the version..i don't understand what she;s trying to say..can some kind soul please help;

- How to upgrade the version? (If there is really such thing)
- Would it affect the US Free Loader i bought with the console?
- Which website can i visit to know which Jap Game can i use with my free loader?

a. 2 ways, first see the bottom of your wii. the serial no if it's LJFXX... X it's jap. if it's LUXxXXx..x it's US. the other way is very simple, just on your Wii and what is the language on your warning screen?

b. you can only play games of your region.

c. yes, the IR is for the sensor bar, and the wireless is for other items like the balance board, internet.

d. setting it to US enables you to visit the wii shop to buy stuff. as for brazil, it's for some people who can't use the credit card for the US wii shop, so they try to circumvent the issue by changing to another country. btw, singapore doesn't have a wii shop for itself.. quite sad hor?

a. to update the firmware, go to your Wii, Settings menu, go to page 3 and click update system firmware. you need to have had your wi-fi enabled and connected already. if you havent done so, pls click on page 2 "internet" and configure from there.

b. currently if you update the firmware through the internet, the ver is 3.3U and it will disable your freeloader / trucha signer / twilight hack (already countered!)

c. why would you want to play jap games..? haha. issit.. those weird weird kind? i heard there's a game you strap the wii mote in front of you and use it to...... aim and urinate.

The Jap Game i wanted to play is something like that i think..but i didnt realli hear ab the urinate part though..now its sounds fun..lol..

Do u have any idea where i can get cheaper US games? All the shops are selling games at prices which can pay for 2 mths utilities expenses for a 3rm flat...
