i'm lucky,
we're very tolerant of others and our neighbours are very tolerant of us.
the upstairs always vr noisy, at nite still got karaoke, but we just let the matter rest, coz abt 12 they will stop.
downstairs everytime play majong, drilling etc, and sometimes they talk damm loud frm my house can hear de [the two families' man below sit down at the stairs frequently to chill -,- lols. have a drink n smoke n talk]
i sometimes practise piano till 11.lol. and the noise we produce -,- [3 kids in the house yellin]
We never had police coming over, i think its all about give and take, each families here have our own way of living, thus mus learn to accept. SG FTW! |

My upstairs neighbours have no time limits at all. They even made noise at 3am in the morning. i think the limit is 11pm lah, on weekdays. People still need to wake up early in the morning next day to work. Dont understand why. Have tried all methods but no use. Called police, police says town council. My town council went to find them, they are not at home always. I think they deliberately closed the door. Then town council says back to police, they treat our case as a ball. Kick here and kick there |

Haha I guess it depends on the frequency also. If you do it really regularly and purposely and it's like not the normal way of living then it'd become a disturbance. I mean KTV, mahjong, piano-practising all these are pretty normal in my opinion. I don't even think piano practising is going to be a form of noise even at 11pm... =) Nonetheless it's lucky that all of you guys are tolerant of each other ^^ | Quote: | | | Originally Posted by PinkLady | | | | | | My upstairs neighbours have no time limits at all. We have reported to the police over and over again but they don't seem to be able to do anything. They've even talked to the neighbours downstairs but since they're kuku in the head, whatever the police say have no effect whatsoever. We haven't tried going to the town council. We're thinking of bringing it up at the PAP corner when they have their regular meeting every Tuesday. Hopefully they can do something about it. The worst scenario would of course be to sue them. But I guess most families wouldn't wish to go down that road because litigation will never result in win-win situations. Hope your situation has gotten better? They've started knocking again. Yesterday they did that from 9am - 4pm. The police came down and confronted them but the man said he was repairing chairs (repair chairs need to use bamboo to hit the ceiling? Mad?) The police came back upstairs to tell us that they can't do anything else. Told us to file a complaint with the magistrate to give the police further authority to conduct investigation. Also told us to speak with the liaison officer who's in charge of our block (whom we've already spoke to.. and he'd already spoken to the family downstairs and settled everything supposedly)
This morning they started again from 11am... up till now (140pm). We've subsequently gotten 2 of our neighbours to witness the incident. Even with the witness, the police couldn't do anything yesterday. Now they bang with a rhythm summore.. and after doing that.. we can hear from the kitchen the guy (or sometimes his elderly mum) would go "HA HA HA HA" or "HO HO HO HO".

| | | | | uh? You guys are really shifting out? The problem has stopped on my side already.. thank God I tell you .... now it's entirely peaceful.. No noise no nothing! | Quote: | | | Originally Posted by Shazwi | | | | | | aiya go prank them la... if one way cannot stop them use another la.... hide their shoes, hang there hang here.... deliver every single advertisement brochures to their door step, lots of em, | | | | | I don't like to get back at people like that. What's the point? Your actions will only be contributory to the problem at hand, then you might end up being liable for them. Afterall my neighbours probably have mental incapacity so they're likely to get away with an excuse. So if I go prank them.. then I'm more likely to be in trouble. -_-" To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
