Default Need some Bangkok inf0

Hey,

Im planning to go to Bangkok with my bf early nex year.. Was just wondering, is it safe at all with all that is happening there..?

Any decent hotel which is not so expensive(clean toilet and room is a must)
or near to the chatuchak market or cheap shopping....budget hotels are also fine.

And is it best to go on weekend or weekdays?

Roughly around how much do u actually spend there including flight and hotel.
Are those budget airlines like air asia or tiger airways be a better option for flight.

Thanks!

it's actually safe (when i went last year, not sure about this year, cos of some thins happening recently).

I stayed in the chinatown area, at grand china hotel.. it was overall clean. oppsite the hotel has got pasar malam. If even if, u wish to go somewhere else, it will take only like 10 mins taxi rides (eg. pakpon hehe dunno how to spell) depending wher u wish to go..

total i spend about less than 500 or 600 for a week stay.. relatively is cheap there. (inclusive of air ticket (tiger airlines) and hotel accomodation..

well.. that's my experience..
enjoy yourself there:rock:

Rachaida City hotel is near to central BKK. The MRT station (Hui Kway) is 10 mins walk away. You can take a MRT to Suhuvmit or Patpong. Not adviseable to take Taxi as the journey could take much longer than MRT.

As for shopping, I would recommend you CenCom Centre. It is a huge shopping centre with individual floors specialising in woman's clothing, electronic, etc.

It cost about 900 baht a night which is less than SG$40 per day.

Don't read too much about the coup, demostrations, bombings, etc. You will hardly noticed them at all.

Be prepared to pay about 300 baht for a taxi from the A'port to town area.

My advise is for you to take TG or SQ as should you decide to extend your holidays here, these 2 airlines are able to do so without you incurring extra costs. As for the budget airlines, if you missed or change your flight or extend your stay, you will have to fork out for a new ticket. As for Finair, Air Iltalia, Quatas, they only have a twice weekly flight.

Do drop me a PM if you are in BKK. Would not mind showing you and your BF around in Bangkok.

Do remember to bargain for everything. :biggrin4:

I'll be in bangkok 24 - 27 Jun. Try to be as budget as possible.

Will be staying at Samran Place; reported it's near Asia Hotel.

Heard the hotel is pretty new. Do u know about this hotel? Is it really near MBK?

If u gg 1st time, i suggest u stay Asia hotel or ard the area. It's convenient.

I always booked my hotel from www.asiarooms.com

It's only bcos Samran Place is new & super cheap.. so i'm trying out.

I've previously stayed bangkok palace (dun stay ter; out of e place),
sol twin tower (ok location but dislike gotta cross a wide & busy road infront of the hotel.. but room is BIG de wor.. i rem got 2 queen size beds in my room),
arnoma hotel (room size ok, got indoor big swimming pool but never c & never use. Also got bad experience ter. My fren bathed after we check in the hotel and found ter's no towel. Called room service, kept apologising and say washing machine down.. i gotta offer her solution; ask her to towel frm another room 1st),
Asia Hotel (Big hotel with train station linked. But be careful, they got rooms without window. They call it cabin room or something like tat).

U can chk out asiarooms website since 1 of e ways they categorise the hotels is by location.

I was in Bangkok a day ago! It is pretty safe here except that you better avoid all the temples in Bangkok where the mob and unrest occurs. Else where situation is pretty well controlled.

By the way I stayed at my friend house and I took BUSES to Bangkok as I was visitng Krabi and Malaysia.

Hope it helps.

Do drop me a PM then.

It actually depends on what you actually want to do during your stay here.

There are many activities and many "sins" can be done too if you know what I mean. :biggrin4:

1 week of partying here, you would never want to party again back in SG.

Hi! Are you coming as a group of just you and your BF?

I think the best thing for gals to do here is shopping, shopping and more shopping.

Try not to go to Sol Cowboy or PatPong area if your group consist of only females. These places consists of many strip joints and might not be unsuitable for you. If you are going with guys, do drop by at Patpong cos in front of these joints there are many stalls selling many things including fake branded watches, pens, lighters, clothings, etc. Do remember to bargain cause once you speak even if you know how to speak Thai, they will know you are a FARAK (Foreigner) and will try to quote you a high price.

Do drop me a PM when you are there.

Happy Holidays.

Hahaha...don't get your hopes high...I happen to be an average SG bloke who happens to work in BKK.

You coming alone and most importantly are you attached? Don't wish to answer to your better half and explain your changes after your visit here!

In BKK, there are clubs where you can pick up gals for a fee. It is also known as a Gentleman club e.g Florence Club. You can see but cannot touch. You will be surrounded by Coyotes and listen to live Thai Band.

There are also AGG joints (Ah Go Go) in both Sol Cowboy and Patpong. These are basically Strip joints where the beers and gals are cheap. These gals would dance on stages in skimpish lingeries or totally nude. Should you see a gal you like, you can get her over to talk to you by buying her a drink (Less than S$10) and should you want to develop further, you can "book" her for a fee of 2000 to 3000 baht that is excluding the "Bar Fine". You may take her clubbing or just go back to the hotel.

If you want to pick up FOC then you should head to RCA, Hollywood, Dance Fever, etc. These are Discos. Picking up a local gal is e-z there as you are a FARAK (Foreigner). It also depends on your luck.

You may want to check out the MP (Massage Palour) the higher floor you go the more high cost of
