erm...i'm thinking of buying a ndsl soon( hopefully) and i need info abt it..

1) can ndsl operate and play games without a cartridge in it?

2)wats the maximum amount of memory a ndsl can support?

3)wat are the 'must hv' accesories that i must buy. eg casing , screen protector...

pls help me wif this. thx!

yes. R4 would do the thing. M3 also can. but now raids are common, so might not be able to get.

2GB? depending on the memory card.

screen protector - it comes with it (change it when it looks bad), casing (plastic casing to protect ur console - $10)

1) Yes and no, without ANY carts, the NDS would start up into its OS, which you can search for games. If you are close to a friend who is using download play, then you can download that game and play with him or her. The data download for download play is temporary, once you turn your DS off, the data would be gone. If you are in the US, there is a place know as the Nintendo Download Station, that is where you can download the game demos and movie trailers, however, such a facility does not exist in Singapore. In the nutshell, it is not possible to play any full and complete game without carts.

2) The question isn't exact, what do you mean by NDS memory? If its just the console itself, that I am not sure, but it is of certain size, big enough to temporary store downloaded game demos and movies.

3) For accessories, alvinsoh37 have basically covered them all, a screen protector and a casing. Maybe other customizations to personalize your NDS, like a new skin.
