Need help here urgently!!!!

i currently waiting for my poly DAE results, using my O lvl results and so dont know if i'm being offered a place in any of the poly. but as a backup plan, i'm thinking of taking private A level courses but i've never been into a JC before. so will it be very risky and dangerous if i just take private A lvl without being enrolled into a JC before?

AND ALSO

i'm considering taking private A lvl course as my backup plan just in case all the polys rejected me in my DAE application. so are there any private schools which offers private A lvl courses at a CHEAPER price ?

I think the most important question you need to ask is what do you want to do in the future.

It's not just about getting into the school. You also need to consider where does that particular school gona lead you to?

I don't know if there's a difference in pricees offered by private schools. However, from my own experience in private school. Always look for conducive environment and be prepared to go against the crowd-flow if you really want to score in your studies.

I wanna get into any of the 3 govt unis, SMU/NTU/NUS to further studies.. that's my main goal.. i aiming for business/faculty of arts and social sciences.

besides it's harder to get into JC now cos i think all the places already taken out le. and given u current-not-so-good-results. think u might want to consider MI.only difference is u get 3 years there instead of 2 years.BUTBUT . u get to know more gals la. hahahaha:rock:

yea my results indeed qualify for MI but due to some personal reasons and some sensitive issue, i choose not to go to MI. Furthermore, i heard the percentage of students being able to be admiited into uni from MI is way lower than from JCs. hmm rocky, are u from MI?

hmm its not that i 'm not confident la, but just that i'm planning a backup route just in case my poly DAE choices are rejected. hmm well i enrolled into poly last yr but due to my inability to cope with that course as its too technical for me, i dropout from poly after 2 months. so after that, i went on to retake Os. but sadly, my new combined results still didnt qualify for JC although it did improved by a few grades.

If U r confident . n u r sure u can do well if u take private A..

being an A lvl student.. i feel that it'll be better if u study in a jc as compared to a private institution as it is more recognized (esp if u r the borderline cases or appeal student appealing to a course or a university).. and i think currently 10% of the university entry grade comes from project work. if u r going to study in a private institution, do rmb to check whether pw is available. yupz. =) all the best k! good luck! hope u get into the sch you want.

I feel it doesn't matter if u study in a mainstream jc or MI since what matters is ur A lvl's results and since u sound determine to work hard. I will assume u won't fare too badly for ur A level's

Getting into anywhere isn't the main issue..the crux of it is to work hard and do well where ever u are.

yea thats the main point. i believe that as long as i study consistently and apply the right methods of studying, i will do well for As. thanks alot kaahaa.

because i previously enrolled into poly last yr before but i couldnt cope on with the course any further. so i quit poly, hence they labelled me an ex-poly student and i have to apply under DAE. u got any private school offering A lvl courses to recommend?
