VIDEO BUZZ 2
MS KYLA Ebbert thought she was making a fashion statement.
But that statement almost got the 23-year-old US woman thrown off a Southwest Airlines plane.
When she boarded a flight in San Diego headed for Arizona on 3 Jul, she was led off the plane by an airline employee because her skirt was too skimpy, the Associated Press reported.
Ms Ebbert, a student who was headed to Tucson for a doctor's appointment, said last Friday on NBC's Today show that the employee told her she would have to catch a later flight.
The video has since made its rounds on the Internet and has been the subject of much controversy.
'You're dressed inappropriately. This is a family airline. You're too provocative to fly on this plane,' she quoted the employee as saying.
'I said, 'What part is it? The shirt? The skirt? Which part?' And he said the whole thing.'
Ms Ebbert was eventually allowed back on the plane after offering to adjust her sweater but said she was humiliated and embarrassed.
She wore the same outfit she had on the flight during theshow.
Mr Chris Mainz, a spokesman for the airline, said a customer service supervisor asked Ms Ebbert to leave the plane and addressed her in the walkway leading back to the terminal, 'away from the other customers'. The employee felt the outfit 'revealed too much' but was placated after Ms Ebbert made adjustments that included covering her stomach.
Ironically, Ms Ebbert claims that on her return flight with the same airline on the very same day, one of the stewardesses complimented her on the same outfit.
