1) my dog didnt microchipped yet where can i do it? any vet will have it...price of microchipping is abt $60...anyway if u wanna sterilised ur dog...my frd have a package at $160 (include sterlisation, jab, microchipping)
2) my sis found the dog, she is a mix lab. so i need to register at landed property? yes...either register using condo/landed also can...
3) the shelter have any dog vet? ( maybe we can bring our dog see doctor there :p) nope the shelter doesnt have house vet...u have to bring ur dog to your prefer vet.
4) I find it quite hard to train the dog paper cause my dog still poo everywhere but making good progress after 3 weeks is it good sign ? some dogs have to spend longer time to be paper train...some juz take a day..best way to train is to confine the dog with newspaper spread fully...then slowly reduce the newspaper as he progress.
5) my dog dont dare to go out of the house why ? cos they are not use to travelling...try giving him treat and be patience to him...let him know that going out is not a bad thing...do evrything slowly...give him time.
6) If carry her out she wouldnt dare to walk even pull her, is there any way i can bring her out other then carry her ? try leashing ur dog when u are at home...walk ard with him...let him get use to the leash...then if needed to...bring or carry him out...go to a place where there are ppl walking ard...find a spot and sit down...let him get use to strangers walking ard, moving objects etc...then try to slowly walk him...take a stroll...do it everyday for an hour or so...u shall see good results soon. | | | | | | Quote: | | | | | sorry abit lor so. btw i went there saw a dog (leg got plastic bag de) what happen ? so ke lian | | | | | ya dat dog name is Cash...he is a whippet...below is his story : 1st update
His right hind leg was fractured and crushed when young. The so called ex owner did not do anything to treat it. The rescuer has left him in the rescuer care as he is away till end of month.
the rescuer took him to see Dr Chua at Allpets on saturday as Cash (the name of the whippet) has this 20cent size sore. The sore started as he is always dragging his hind legs when he walks and it is always 'leaking' pus and water. Dr Chua referred the rescuer to Mt Pleasant Dr Heng as this was definately a fracture and not a nerve problem. The 'water' that is leaking from the wound will never stop as this is 'bone water' As long the fracture is not fixed then the water will never stop.
Cash went to Mt Pleasant today and x ray shows that the leg is a mess. they are currently trying to give antibotics and cream to heal the 20 cents coin sore. Then from there the vet will further access if they can save the hind leg. 2nd update
It is with much sadness that I am announcing this news after the review with Dr Heng of Mt Pleasant.
There is too much nerve damage to the hind leg that he is still not able to lift his legs and walk. Looks like amputation is the only solution we can look at cos Cash will forever be dragging his hind feet and even if we get this wound healed, another will re appear.
I know that some of you all will advice us to get a second opinon, but I will discuss this with the rescuer. Surgery date is set for this Friday 25th May 2007. Let rescuer ponder over in his own limited time to see if he wants a second opinon. 3rd update |

Dear all members,
i am james here, i am the rescuer of the whippet dog name CASH. i found him and his brother during chinese new year. when i found both of them, CASH is already dragging his right hind leg. after hunting high and low i finally manage to find the owner hence i planned to return the both whippet.
on the day when i met the owner she was very happy that her dogs are returned to her but she also suggested to me whether i want CASH, the one with the injuryed leg because she was planning to give away or sort. out of kind heart i decided to take him in. but his leg got worsen if u happen to read in one of the thread here, CASH have to have his right hind lag remove due to his injuries since very young. his X-ray shows that his bones that leads to the toe is all crushed therefore causing him to limp and causing bruises to his leg.
i visited numerous vet and had spent quite an amount in all the consultation and medicine yet all the vet didnt give me much hope. till anderson brought up to me that there is this vet in ARC is very famous and experience. i went to pay him a visit and to give CASH the last chance before i had to do a very cruel decision of removing his leg.
in deed, he is very professional and experience. he is willing to save CASH right hind leg or at least make him use it as a support. he was very kind to actually discounted me on my first visit and the suggested operation. the operation he suggested was to insert 4 metal pin into his leg and correct all the crushed bone and bone graving is also needed. his estimated value of the operation was 1.8k. after he removing his operation cost it was reduced to 1.3k. it was a very huge discount but never the less due to all previous consultation and medicine i am running dry. moreover,i am studying in uni and working 3 part time job now to actually provide him with the required medicine and vet visiting.
if u are wondering how much i have spent, i cant tell u the exact because i have lost count. for the passed 1+ month he had been using at least 2 cohesive bandage for his wound per day and each cost around $3.60. and also cotton wools, groze, antispectic wash and antispectic cream. all in all, i estimated my spending might have went over 1.2k inclusive of vet visit.
i had set up this thread to appeal to all the kind hearted souls out there to help me out here. i am not expecting the donation to reach the full amount but i just hope that my burden can be reduced abit. i had been trying hard to save here but it seems the amount is no where near the final 1.3k.
i really not trying to seek an easy way out to get money from the kind people out there but with my own individual ability i am not able to save up to that amount in this short time.
The presume operation date will be on the 20th june.
Cost of operation: $1.3k (exclude medicine)
Review will be on the 16th june.
Cost of consultation and medicine: $145 (probably, depending on the medicine)
i sincerely appeal to all and thanks for reading this thread. if you are willing to help me out pls drop me a sms @96197939 or email @arc599@yahoo.com.
if anyone really thinks that i am trying to bluff anyone here, pls look for me to clarify. this is a genuine case. i will be posting up some photos of the X-ray, CASH picture and his leg condition soon..
Thanks to all who read this thread again.
A very huge thanks to those who had prayed for him in another thread. |
