KUALA LUMPUR - A RUBBER plantation worker in Malaysia shot and injured his son at home after mistaking him for a burglar in the dark, a news report said.
Mr Mohamad Zulfaqor Mohamad Sobri, 18, was admitted to a hospital with leg injuries after being shot by his father, the New Straits Times reported on Wednesday. The incident happened at about 2am on Tuesday in the northern Kedah state.
'It was dark and I only saw a silhouette,' Mr Mohamad Sobri, the father, was quoted as saying. 'My son did not turn on the lights, and I thought it was a thief who had broken into our house.'
Mr Mohamad Sobri grabbed a shotgun and fired. He said he realised he had hit his son only when the young man - who had got up from bed to get a drink - screamed in pain.
The neighbourhood had seen several break-ins recently and the family's own house had been burgled a few months ago, Mr Mohamad Sobri told the paper.
Police could not immediately be reached to confirm the report. -- AP http://www.straitstimes.com/Latest%2...ry_225368.html To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.

His dad could have observe awhile more before shooting.
His son is kinda innocent here, just trying to get a drink and save that lil bit of electricity bill and got shot.
Ouch! |
