Most useless subject in school!

How many of us have wasted time in studying subjects that is totally irrelevant/useless to our work in the working society?

yes ..a lot of the subjects will not be useful for our future ..they are jus wastin our time ..but they claim that these subjects are used as a guage how well we can cope with studyin a lot of subjets .

The most useless subject, imo, is Civic and Moral Education. I have learnt absolutely nothing from that subject.

The best subject I ever took was in primary one, which is phonics. That's one life skill we all need.

I oso think like that. I study history, geography, science, account, bla bla bla.. FOR WHAT?? Where else now i'm a designer oso.. Gosh.. Wasted my 10 over years time to study those thick thick books -n- got nervous wen exam came.

actually there is nothing classified in the sense of being useless subject. each have their own qualities. which you may find it helpful in the life.

Quite true but tink of it.... If u wish to be a chemical engineer u will have to learn the basics of chemistry or like Biology for life sciences? Science subjects are useful enough

Geography is to let u noe nature and continents and stuff to boost ur knowledge, well it might not be any help to ur job but it serves as a value added subject

History and social studies? Wonder if u dun even study the history of Singapore and ppl toking abt Singapore history and u dun even noe anything? Embarass right? Again this is a value added subject. I really love learning history since i noe more abt the past of the world.

Language? A basic necessity for communicating....
The worst subject is CME which is of no use at all.... If CME did really teach us morals, y am I still seeing ill mannered ppl and bad attitude ppl?

Art and DnT is personal preference....

Mathematics? Maybe they shouldn't teach those bombastic formulas and stuff unless u are gonna be a engineer, u should really noe how those formulas worked

School subjects are only as useless as you think they are.

My point is if you think they are useless, then you won't bother to go and study them.

Instead of thinking how useless they are, how about looking at the new things you learn from them? New perspectives, fresh opinions...

Erm, at least, they can get your brain to work more frequently. Those we studied in Secondary and Tertiary Education are just fundamentals. If you got no basic, you might end up fighting with the Foreigners for jobs. They are of cos useful ! , but well, it all thanks to the government that they are so useful. haha.

hmmm..i take it that you don't pay attention in social studies then? social studies is not a subject that's supposed to 'be of relevance' to your work, its to promote social cohesion, national loyalty and whatnot. :biggrin4:

just face the facts..
the only subject which is useful is maths and english..
and maths i mean basic maths..
plus minus multiply and divide..
the rest alegebra all for what nonsense lol

Suppose if you have a client telling you about Chemical fomulars or
Geographical formation or history of your own country..
Would't it be ashame if you don t know them.
But yea i fully agree civics and moral is useless..
