Ive been taking piano lessons since 7. 10 WHOLE YEARS. But guess what? I've only got a grade 5 certificate. Currently pursuing for a grade 5 theory cert then going on for a grade 6 piano cert. 10 years but only 5 grades? You must be thinking I am untalented/stupid. Well, I admit I have no talent because I can only play the notes well after practise. Shove me an unfamilar piece of piano scores to me, I'll play sai for you. However, I do not think I'm slow in learning. The only reason for this is because I do not enjoy piano lessons at all! I love listening to piano pieces played by my teacher/pro piano students but I just cant stand the process of mastering a piece of song to perfection...I'm a lazy bum in nature...

Therefore, I very seldom touch the piano. Almost like none at all. The only time I play the piano is during classes! I wanted to quit but I know my mom and teacher would be disappointed if I stop at such a high grade..In the end, I continued...

If I had a choice/say when I was younger, I would have gotten my mom to sign me up for:

1. ballet &
2. Figure skating

What about you? Are you being forced or pressurized to learn a skill or art like me? And what would you like to learn instead if you have a choice? Pls rant and share as much as u like..hehe

when i was very young, mum forced us to learn drawing... draw for few years end up i give up.. cos totally not interested...

i wish my mum forced me to learn piano, violin, ballet...

My mum dont force me into anything, but i wish she would force me to learn something.

love to attend drawing lesson or musical instructment..

now? too busy for that..

before mom used to force me to learn piano lessons when i was very young.. after like 2 years i stopped cuz i dont really enjoy it :handsup: the teacher very bad and sux mah..

My parents do not force me to take up anything to learn de~~

I am quite stubborn actually~ no one can force me to do what i want~

but i strongly believe watever the parents do, it is always for the good of their child

Abacus. I hate maths. -_-

I took up computer lessons happily though.

I want to learn violin, or saxophone for musical instruments, or ballet (so that I look more sinewy now).

Yea same case with u here, i hate abacus and i am always the slowest when teacher ask us to do xin suan.

my parents nv force me to do anything at all. cos they can't afford to. if they can let me go through the education systems like normal kids do, they are very happy already.

i've always wanted to learn piano when i was a kid. i begged my parents but they can't afford and our flat is too small to fit in a piano. until now it's still a dream that hasn't come true. i really wish i can make time to go learn piano after work, although i'll be a very overaged student.

i rem when i was in jc and i heard a friend played piano and he played so well, i cried. i told him that he's so fortunate. i wish i can play like him, but my parents can't afford to buy me my wish. :cry3:

now can only work hard, and pay for my own piano lessons. i hope it'll be soon...

my parents cannot afford piano so they let me go for classes that they can afford and i went for art classes too, since K1. i love it but i want to concentrate on my studies so i stopped going for my classes in pri 3.

my parents also send me to those class tuitions at PAP (cheaper) since pri 1 cos they aren't much educated and worry no one to teach me at home and give me guidance on homework. but i stopped going in pri 4 cos i wanna concentrate on homework from school and i know that's enough.

i told my parents i dun need tuition and tuition homeworks are just extra chores for me. haha~ and i just do my own revision. my parents never force me one. when i say i wanna stop going, they just let me stop. i do wat i want (as long as they can afford lah)...

i never went for any tuition eversince and i'm glad i could managed on my own without anyone to teach. cos these days i always hear ppl get tuition teachers for sec sch and jc kids. aiyo... really so jialat meh?

give u freedom and give u childhood mah! then u got ask them to let u learn anything?
