Oh Yeah! There's only one word can describe Metal Gear Solid - SOLID!!!

As for the MGS movie, speculation has been flying about a silver screen Metal Gear Solid adaptation, but series creator Hideo Kojima has been tightlipped. In a recent broadcast of Hide-chan Radio, Kojima announced that MGS was indeed getting made into a feature film. "We're going to do it as a movie," he confirmed. "A Hollywood movie." When? The director was reluctant to give specifics, saying "I can't say when yet." He added that the film was going to be in English.

Sony gears videogame for film
Popular franchise coming to bigscreen
By DIANE GARRETT, BEN FRITZ De Luca

Sony is bringing hit vidgame franchise "Metal Gear Solid" to the bigscreen.
Michael De Luca will produce the adaptation, with vidgame creator Hideo Kojima as exec producer. A bigscreen adaptation of the futuristic vidgame has been rumored since last May's E3 confab, but negotiations with Konami Digital Entertainment have been ongoing. Sony chair Yair Landau confirmed it was in the works following his keynote speech Thursday at the DICE vidgame confab in Las Vegas.

Columbia co-prexy of production Doug Belgrad hailed the franchise as especially cinematic in its storytelling and "loaded with well-developed, intriguing characters."

"Metal Gear Solid" has sold more than 20 million units since 1998, but its roots date back even further; the first "Metal Gear" game came out in 1987. Stealth action title became one of the industry's biggest hits and has four sequels, the last three of which came out under the "Metal Gear Solid" moniker. Another sequel is set for release this year.

"Metal Gear" games involve political intrigue and have a generally antiwar message.

CAA represents Konami and negotiated the deal.

IDW to Release Metal Gear Solid Comic Book
By: Shawn Patty
IDW Publishing is very proud to announce that they are joining with video game giant Konami to publish their #1 video game franchise, Metal Gear Solid, as a comic book.

The Metal Gear Solid series has sold over 14 million copies worldwide and will now broaden that consumer base to the comic book market. Metal Gear Solid is generally regarded as the premiere video game, with millions of fans and players.

“Metal Gear Solid is the ‘Lord Of The Rings’ of the video game business and we are pleased and honored that Hideo Kojima, the game’s creator, is allowing us to make comics based on his incredible work,” said IDW Publishing President Ted Adams. “Many other comic book publishers have approached Konami to produce comics, so IDW Publishing is very pleased that Mr. Kojima personally chose us. Mr. Kojima also personally approved noted illustrator Ashley Wood to provide the art for Metal Gear Solid.”

"I have absolute trust in IDW, who have given birth to 30 Days of Night. I am a personal fan of Mr. Ashley Wood. He is a man of great talent. Together, they have broken the norms of conventional American comics and established a worldwide new wave of bande dessinée,” says Hideo Kojima, Metal Gear Solid series Director and Producer, and Vice President of Konami Computer Entertainment Japan, Inc. “It is a great honor that they are creating comics based on Metal Gear Solid, and I have learned through the process how much they love the game. I have no doubts that they will definitely be bringing us a great Metal Gear Solid comic series."

As for the MGS game exclusive for PS3, "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriot" is a next-generation adventure set in the aftermath of MGS2: Sons of Liberty. Kojima is in charge of as game design, production, and direction (along with additional director Shuyo Murata), with Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi producing the title and Yoji Shinkawa handling character design.

The concept behind the project is "No place to hide", and the new edition of the series will force Solid Snake into unexpected circumstances in an all-new storyline that breaks away in some ways from the previous MGS franchise entries.

A release date for this game has not yet been announced by them.

oh ya, btw. i heard theres gonna be more CQC in MGS4 and even the soldier baddies can do simple CQC stuff. lol..more realistic? lots more stuff like rollin on the floor while in prone position, etc.

read in a PS3 magazine abt how the camoflage will work
it would be similar to how MGS3 works...
if u rmbed, in MGS3:
u collect diff "camos" and u can use it to increase ur camo index

Read in PS3 Magazine:
u collect different "textures" and it will change to the best suited texture according to wat u collected based on the enviroment u are in.

also read in some situations u can scare the soldiers by shooting in the air, etc.

it would be cool if they made another edition of Metal Gear Online (like CS but using MGS3 interface) using MGS4 interface. saw some vids on MGO and it looked sooooo COOL!

heard theres gonna be another MGS PSP game releasing soon.

Kojima is really earning $$$
