Man charged with obscene act, molest

A 23-YEAR-OLD man has been accused of exposing himself and molesting two victims in HDB lifts.
Yan Jiayi is said to have squeezed the breast of a 25-year-old woman inside a lift of a block of flats in Canberra Road in Sembawang on Jan 22.
He is also alleged to have molested a 12-year-old girl in a lift at Sembawang Drive by stroking her air and touching the back of her body on Feb 8, 2006. Then on Dec 27 last year, he allegedly committed an obscene act by exposing himself to a woman and rubbing his private parts with a piece of carrot cake in a lift of another block of flats at Sembawang Drive.
The bespectacled man, who is big build with short hair, was remanded at the Institute of Mental Health for psychiatric examination. His case will be mentioned on Feb 15.
If convicted of molestation, he faces a jail term of up to two years or a fine or caning or any two such punishments.
