my friend and i are planning a very last-minute one day shopping trip to malaysia..

the only shopping centre that comes to our mind is City Plaza which is the nearest to the custom..

can anyone else recommend other places to go? Do bear in mind that we'll only be there for 1 day.. so we can't go too far.. thanks

For one day shopping trip, the nearest Malaysian state you can go is Johore. The nearest shopping mall to the custom is CITY SQUARE, but the shops there are like what you'd find in Singapore's shopping malls le...

HOLIDAY INN PLAZA has more local stuff...lotza of illegal DVDs shops though...but if you're looking for clothings, this shopping centre has quite a number of trendy street wear shops.

Somehow I always find the food in Malaysia tastier and cheaper than in Singapore, especially kopi tiam or roadside stalls' food.

Yummmmmmmy!

Leaving for KL this afternoon. :biggrin4: Be back on Monday!

In KL, I like going to the 3-in-1 shopping mall in Bukit Bintang. Sungei Wang, Bintang Plaza and Bukit Bintang Shopping Centre lor.... Not so much to shop but they have good hair salons there that are not pricey.

I also like to go to Mid Valley becos my gym has an outlet there! Some of the shops sell unique stuff so itz fun browsing.

This time I might go to 1 Utama, another humongous shopping centre and do a thorough floor by floor, shop by shop tour.

A must eat dish is the 'Bee Tai Mak' at Jalan Alor for dinner. For S$2.50, each order is individually cooked in a pan and there are heapfuls of liver, kidney, minced meat, sliced meat and veges served in a huge bowl. Very shiok and very very filling! You'll never find this kind of generous toppings in Singapore one.

KL, here I come! :biggrin4:
