Any recommendation? Tot of getting a Sony or Canon brand. Saw the specs for Sony T-300. Does Canon has anything similiar like that?
Had a bad encounter with Canon cameras once before, esp the battery dries out very fast esp using camera for abt half and hour and low battery indicator is beeping Think mine was the old one - IXUS 40.
Nowadays, do Canon camers dry batteries very fast? | |

i would personally recommend Canon A720IS because they have many functions within a small camera, and they even have a manual mode, which i think is a must since we can't predict when the lightings will be too bright or too dark, having the manual mode can help you to adjust the shutter speed and aperture. And i don't think canon will cause batteries to dry up very fast if you are using rechargeable batteries. I can use two GP 2500 rechargeavle batteries for 4 days, each around 4-5 hours without any problems. If you are using off shelf batteries like energizer it will surely be used up within 2 hours. So recommend to buy rechargeable batteries for your Canon camera.
Personally i have this Canon A720IS for half a year now, bought last year christmas. As i don't use digital camera (cos i hardly takes any pic as i am spending most of time doing my school projects) Since i bought this camera, i really enjoy taking pictures (i am quite new to camera and picture taking), it is easy to use, and the pictures taken are clear and nice. It the condition is too bright or dark, i can also use manual mode to adjust my camera conditions.
i am also using samsung i70 currently. Just bought it quite recently so still not too sure about most of the functions, but it is compact, have face detect and image stabilizer like canon A720IS and also many other functions. One thing different from canon A720IS is it uses rechargeable battery instead of AA battteries, and it has less zoom as compare to canon A720IS. But it has more skin colour as campare to Canon A720IS and is slimmer than Canon A720IS.
But i feel that both brands of camera i really enjoy using and they are easy for new users or people who hardly use digital camera like me to be able to enjoy the camera and their funtions without any difficulties
