his two-feet long lizard was spotted by 50-year-old Lai on 4 January at about 1 pm when he was walking past the exercise pit between Blocks 506 and 507 near the river deck next to Sungei Api Api.

According to the STOMP reader, he caught sight of the animal from the corner of his eye, and intrigued by it, started moving towards the lizard to get a closer look.



The lizard, he said, "moved very slowly."

Lai was thus able to capture these shots of it.

After a while, the animal scampered off.
