The first one probably came from the BBC or from their source because I read it this morning on the BBC website. The second one is amazing. I cannot believe Juventus would up their offer by so much.
Well with the number of midfielders we already have, plus the possibility of Barry coming, it would make great commercial sense to sell Alonso for 20m.
The 'revelation' that Benitez is interested to buy Villa just goes to show how thick the smoke screen is and I'm sure more things will clear up in the next two weeks. |

Eh, the 20M is in euro not pound, i think Juventus main target is still Stankovic rather then Alonso eh, they need a replacement for the aging Nedved. |

Maybe Alonso knows and that's why he's apparently not so interested to leave now. Actually it is to his advantage to stay. To improve, one has to stay and try to overcome the challenges.
To me, he's a little bit on the arrogant side - most of the Spanish lads appear to be (probably because of their boss) - I remember seeing him angrily brushing off Carra's comments a few times during matches the season before last.
Hope he stays, improves and fights for his place. |

Anyway our 3rd signing for the new season shld be the Palmeiras gk for 3m, with Itandje likely to join Kewell at Galatasaray for 2m.
Villa damn troublesome leh, want to accept 17m for Barry + Finnan who they value only at 1m! Then still must pay in 2 instalments. -.- |

I remember watching Carra being interviewed a couple of times and wondered whether he was speaking English!!
Seriously though, every player has to respect the authority of the captain & his vice ..
I read mixed views from other forums regarding Barry's valuation. Some say (like I do): leave him to sulk at O'Neil and forget it!; others say : leave him to sulk etc.. and move in for him again in January for 10m or less; still others say : English players are expensive, 18m is about right if Benitez really want him and Finnan is getting on and only has one more year of his contract left, so ..
Somewhat related to the purchase of this midfielder is a rather more serious concern : we are losing at least 3 senior midfielders (Masch, Lucas, Babel) to the Olympics. This could affect our first two PL games and the CL qualifier! |

Liverpool are ready to step up their interest in Valencia winger David Silva, according to reports…
The Sun claims that the Merseyside giants are aiming to tie up a deal for around ₤16million as they seek to increase their flair options this summer.

Total SGC$: 119.00 | Re: Liverpool FC - The Reds Alonso should not leave as he will be playing 1st team in the month where Masch and Lucas is away for Olympics. If he play well I gather Rafa will give him more chances, he play at the 2 DM spot so chance is high. Furthermore he had been with Liverpool since Rafa was here and he had been very consistent until Rafa change to 4-2-3-1. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Gerrard + Alonso = best partnership in the league, some say the world. :p
Silva comes in he can play on the right, cuts infeild with his deadly left leg, cfm can get more goals then Peanant in that position. |

7 subs?! where did that come from - is that a new FIFA ruling or only English FA?
Anyway, official news from Liverpool : Rafa Benitez today played down reports he is ready to swoop for Spain hero David Villa. Benitez said: "I said the other day that Villa is one of the names we had on our list, but I can say at this moment that it is not an option for us.
"We know Villa is a very good player, we know the price and we know the players we have, so when you consider everything we decided he was one of the names, but at this moment, not our target.
"Keane is one of the other names and, okay, we are working on other names. We were in contact and we will see now."
Well at least we now know that all the dust flying about Villa and Keane were true. But the interests are just interests .. for now. Strange that he didn't even mention Silva! |
