haha, if he didn't win that, u think the board will still support him until now?

3rd, 5th, 3rd is simply not good enough for LFC.

Quite true! I remember those days in the late 70's to the late 80's when Liverpool was the team of the decade winning titles after titles!

Quite surprisely, they have not won the EPL since it was renamed.

So far if I am not wrong, only Arsenal, Man Utd, Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea had won the title since it was renamed English Premier League in 1995/96?

I think they change the name in 92/93 season. Yup only 4 teams won it after e rename, so you think which team got higher chance of becoming the 5th team?

Don't worry, when Xabi comes back, it'll wins after wins.

I saw many people saying he is the most overrated player at the club BUT the one who works the hardest is often only notice when they missing, and clearly ever since that last game Alonso plays against Derby, we are clearly missing somebody ain't we?

Mascherano runs side to side alot, trying to win the ball, Gerrard moves forward all the time. When Alonso sits back, viewers think he is lazy doesn't do much, truth is he is reading the game all the time. He intercepts balls being play to the opposition strikers, takes a look up field and hit a 60 yards pass to the forwards, he links the defence and attack together, everything goes thru him. And he is our only midfielder that can have a good partnership with all of our other midfielders, he bring the best out of them.

I agree that he is pretty underrated.... I also realised that Uncle Ben like to kill off the excellence form of the strikers by benching them or not starting them up and instead chooses to use those who had not hit the peak of the form. While it take times for them to pick up their forms, those who are on the peak would find themsleves going down without much chance to play.

Also he would need to get rid of the deadwood players who do nothing but collect salaries to stay injuried when he should be helping the team. (No i am not saying xabi.)

I think rafa is the best manager liverpool had in a decade...I totally support his rotation policy...the press are so fickle minded and the fans as well...I just cant stand it...praising him when the results go our way...but criticising his rotation policy when things dont go too well...He has quality players everywhere...I feel that voronin is an even better striker than torres...torres may try fancyful stuff tat makes him look good...but how many times have he scored from his scissors kick or overhead kicks? If u ask me...I think dirk kuyt and Voronin are just as good...As for Crouch...he is another kind of player that cannot be compared with the other 3 strikers...Because he is tall, he offers variety to the liverpool offence...So i would not say he is lousy....At least the current crop of strikers are the best i have ever seen since Robbie fowler lost his form...And with Reina between the posts...Liverpool certainly looks formidable...I just hope Rafa beefs up his defence to back up poor old Hypia and the inexperienced but promising Agger...

Well u got to see how he rotates, 1 or 2 chances a game is good, but 5 to 7 chances per match that is madness. In the end u'll do well for the cup conpetitions but eventually you gave up the domestic league. We need a strong first eleven to be playing week in week out, look at Utd. and Arsenal, why they can start the same team for at least 30 out of the 38 league matches but not Liverpool? The players need rest, true but they are professionals after all. They train everyday so fitness shouldn't be a problem for them. Liverpool has got quality players all over the team but the key players got to be playing with each other regularly to form the "mo qi". One game you start Torres and Kuyt, another game Voronin with Torres, it's very hard to strike an understanding for them. Our defence have alwys been very solid, why? Because JAR, Finnan, Carra and Hyypia until Agger came in have been playing together for a time. They know when to run forward together to force opponents into offside position.

We only played 12 matches this season but we make 62 changes and 34 subs, ya we are indeed making full use of the depth in the team but we are slowly moving away from the leaders as well.

For now, i just hope Rafa will put his strongest team out against Spurs before the international wk and then use the 2 wks to think what is going wrong for the past few games.

We really got a very strong squad this season, hope Benitez won't mess it up, nevertheless i still believe in the phrase "In Rafa We Trust"
