These would be my choice : Torres & Mascherano (non-negotiable), Reina, Agger and Skrtel (we need a strong defence) The harder task is to find 6 English players who are good enough to perform in the EPL : Gerrard, Carragher (at RB), Crouch and Pennant (cannot sell lah) = got to bring in one left winger and one left back. The bench will probably be filled by foreign players. Bottomline : a phased implementation will be fairer, i.e. next season must have at least 4 English, then the following season 5 and then 6 in the season after that .... |

1) either Agger or Skrtel when both are very good in their own right and should command a regular place 2) either Mascherano or Alonso may cause one of them to want to leave, and I think Masch is world class comparable to Dietmar Hamann in the latter's prime Other comments : 3) If you have Pennant, you won't need Bentley 4) Barry play right back?! wow, now that's rather interesting 5) Richards will probably choose ManUre or Chelski unless both don't want him - but if he is not willing, what for?
