Hopefully another 3 pts against the Hammers midweek. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

Both Steve McMahon and Jason McAteer believe that Torres plays better off a big striker (i.e. Crouch) but I don't think so. Quite a number of his goals are a result of through balls from midfield while he also 'made' a number for himself with his skills and pace.
What happened to Pennant ah? He should play on the right instead of Kyut. |

My friends and I were just discussing the other day : if we finish lower than 4th and also get ko'ed in the CL, then the fans will really turn against rafa - for his style of rotation and also for favouring certain players even though they are not playing well.
Hey, where's Pennant ah? |

If the Reds can get max pts from the 3 upcoming home games, then we will be in a strong position to secure 4th. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Astro beamed the CL games and so we could not watch it over here.
Nonetheless I was delighted to know the result. We're back in business! Target now must be to win all remaining games and do well against Man U and Arsenal.
Looks like Rafa prefers to rely on Kyut's assist record rather than use Pennant. I personally think it's a waste - although Pennant only scored one so far, Kyut has not been prolific either bearing in mind that he was bought to score goals. Anyway, as long as the team plays well together and everyone is committed, it's ok lah! |

They are paid well to recover quickly after each game and I'm sure they will be very pumped up about the Inter return leg. Moreover, 'Rotating Rafa' probably won't use all the players, who played against West Ham, this Saturday vs Newcastle.
My guess : Reina, Carra, Skrtel, Hyppia, Riise, Pennant, Benayoun, Gerrard, Alonso, Crouch and Kyut, with Aurelio/Arbeloa, Mascherano, Babel, Lucas and goalie in reserve.
I actually hope the same team will play on Saturday but I don't think Torres will have a good game if he plays. |

Total SGC$: 390.75 | Re: Liverpool FC - The Reds Boy, that was a good and important win .. and Torres gave me a delightful surprise! Rafa is right about him being "on fire" now. Let's hope he will still be 'flame on' when he plays Inter this week. I suppose the 'strongest' team will be fielded again i.e. with Gerrard, Alonso and Mascherano in midfield, Babel on the left and Kyut on the right (I'd prefer Pennant here but then, who am I?!). Only questions remain : will Riise play in place of Aurelio and will Agger be brought back?
Well done Reds and come on, you can do it! |

Total SGC$: 835.05 | Re: Liverpool FC - The Reds Take a look off pitch... | Quote: | | | | | Hicks ends talks with Dubai group
Hicks says he will explore other options on the ownership of the club
Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has ended negotiations with Dubai International Capital (DIC) over acquiring a 49% stake in the club.
DIC had earlier announced it was in advanced talks to buy a stake in the Anfield side.
But in a statement on the Liverpool website, Hicks said: "I have decided to terminate further discussions with DIC.
"I and my colleagues will continue to explore a number of other options with regard to the ownership of the club."
Talks had been taking place between DIC and Hicks about how a joint relationship would work.
George Gillett, Hicks' co-owner, is understood to have agreed in principle to sell 49% of his 50% stake to DIC, and the other 1% to Hicks to give the Texan a controlling interest.
DIC have accepted that Hicks, co-owner of Kop Football (Holdings) Limited, will not sell his share in Liverpool in the near future, but would insist on a clause giving them first refusal to buy his stake.
Hicks added: "DIC made it clear that if they invested in the club, they would want it to be managed by committee.
"It is clear to me that such a committee approach would not be in the best interest of Kop, of the club or of the club's loyal and passionate supporters."
Hicks and fellow American Gillett took control in a deal worth £218.9m in February 2007. But their own relationship has broken down and the pair - Hicks in particular - have been the target for strong criticism from supporters.
It is believed Gillett is willing to sell but the situation is further complicated by an agreement between him and Hicks that means one cannot sell his share without the agreement of the other.
But BBC Radio 5 Live's football correspondent Jonathan Legard understands that DIC will not be deterred from their interest in Liverpool.
"DIC are not discouraged and the show will go on," said Legard. "There are plenty more twists and turns to come." | | | | |
any comments on this? i want DIC to take over... i guess liverpool would have more wealth power if they have been taken over...I guess... Hope this incident would not affect liverpool performance...

It certainly won't provide more reasons for Liverpool to play better.
Getting their hands on the Champions League trophy is more than enough motivation to play their guts out!! |
