To the shock and consternation of salesman Jeffrey Lau, 35, his visit to Courts' megastore's grand opening on 16 December was 'welcomed' by a sea of litter which greeted him as he walked towards the entrance.
"Just look at all the litter left behind," Jeffrey said.
He had been there to check the store out, and described the mess left behind by early-bird shoppers as being "quite a lot".
According to Jeffrey, no one was seen clearing the mess when he was there at 12 noon.
He mentioned the organisers themselves should be "partly blamed as there were tents erected, as well as the provision of first-aid centres, but no rubbish bins were left."
He also concedes the public should be more considerate in making sure a situation like this would not arise, and dispose of litter in a better manner. | | | | | must i say any further? if many singaporeans dun even know how to keep the public toilets free from urine odour, do you even think they'll keep the streets clean? lols |
