make sure your essay is well structured and of decent length (just to suggest that you do have some substance to the examiner, even if u dont  )
every paragraph goes something like
point
quote + explanation + elaboration
link back to question
you have to get used writing in a very organized and coherent manner, and i think that it doesn't hurt to give an extra bit, to show that you think deeper than other students. like you can consider further implications, give analogies, relate to examples in real life etc. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. I got consistent A1s in the lit section of my combined humans - what you basically need to do is repeat everything yr teacher says in class :p
concentrate on the characters in the book and how their actions/speech shows a certain side of their character and analyse from there.
generally speaking yr teacher would have done this in class so if u've been a gd girl conscientiously taking notes just regurgitate!
that's the joy of O levels. Regurgitate and u do well. :\ | |

i just ended my exam with to kill a mocking bird as set text. I wrote a 4 paragraph of jim crow's law and i wrote wrongly at civil laws. I am so gonna flung
