Hi... are you left handed, right handed or ambidextrous? Do you think you might be ambidextrous?

My gf for one remembers that she started scrawling using her left hand when she was young but her father conditioned her to write using her right.

I used to think that i was right handed but then i started to use my left hand to write after i developed writer's cramp. I shoot hoops with my left hand and serve food using my left hand as well (my fellow friends laugh at me for this)

If we are to truly believe that a person's master hand is governed by the dominant brain theory i.e. a left handed person has a dominant right brain and vice versa, then do you think by getting to write by using your other hand, would you alter your neuro regions by how you think?

my dominant hand is right...but i can use left hand to scribble, play badminton, squash and pool. Not very steady la...

I din know got such thing as 'writer's cramp'??

The correlation between u being right handed n being better at left brain functions is not really proven la. hahah Some people who are right handed can also be creative not necessarily only be better at languages. =P

I personally think ambidextrous is cool cuz u can balance dominance betw left n right hand. =P can train both hands wahahah

there is. It's known as writing specific dystonia. Dystonia is a spectrum disorder of which many variants of this condition can be classified under. The strangeness of this disorder is such that i can perform tasks that requires the usage of my right hand e.g. push ups, lifting heavy weights and other tasks that require fine motor skills such as sewing.

However whenever i start to hold a pen or any other writing instruments, the neurones in my right arm will start to overfire i.e. i will start to encounter spasms when i write. This is not a very common condition and it took me 2 years before i realised that i could be suffering from this disorder. In fact, all 7 doctors i consulted prior to me discovering the presence of this disorder, misdiagnosed.

Perhaps a more commonly publicised one will be violin specific dystonia whereby a fiddler experiences involuntary spasms when he or she holds a fiddle. This condition is incurable and doctors are still not sure what causes this condition.

A slight twist to my condition:
It hit me very suddenly prior to my A Levels. Then i dreamt of my deceased grandfather who told me that God has come to take away something from me because he wants to give me a gift.

I'm left-handed and I do practically everything using my left hand. But I use mouse, turn knobs/taps and hold the spoon with my right. I can also write with my right but it's slower and not as tidy.

i had an art teacher in primary school who drew something like a mirror image on the blackboard with both hands. we were so impressed.

God gave me 3 incurable conditions in one fell swoop. I think that was what he took away from me. Writer's cramp to prevent me from writing properly when i love to write, Eczema which took away what remained of my self-esteem, Overly taut ITB which prevents me from running when i loved to run,

The gift was perhaps a lesson in overcoming adversity. To know that no matter how dire circumstances are, one can always mitigate shortcomings to make things work somehow. No matter what, one should never give up.

when i was primary four i have a accident and my right arm broke for month ._.
so i was forced to use left hand to write and do thing..
but when it recover.. i can use both hand to write but not long =x haha

heard from peoples said that right-handed more clever?

leftie here, almost everything wif hand i use my left, but if play soccer i use my right leg more although i left legged.
