Total SGC$: 47.07 | Keeping a Madagascar hissing cockroach as a pet(is a good idea) I would like to say it is a good idea to keep a Madagascar hissing cockroach as a pet.
But I still think it's pretty neat to keep one(or a few).Reasons:
-They don't bite.
-They don't eat meat and are not carnivorous.
-They eat fruits and vegetables such as lettuce and apples.
-They keep themselves clean(by releasing oil onto their shells,I believe).
-They are interesting pets and hiss to scare off predators.
-They don't disturb any of your other pets(s)(it's more likey your other pet(s) may disturb it!).
-They reproduce nicely.
So,enjoy breeding these cute creatures!
Oh yeah, one reason not to use Baygon no more!

But anyway, whenever someone mentions 'cockroaches',someone else has to say,"Cockroaches are disgusting!"
Madagascar hissing cockroaches do not enjoy germs, bacteria, viruses and dust on it's shell,so it cleans itself.
And by the way,it's funny people think insects are ugly and are not pets.
GROW UP,PEOPLE!
Note:No offence to anybody.

A little unbelievable considering how many diseases they cause right? But it's true!
They're constantly cleaning their bodies of dirt that's why you don't want them around especially when your eating cuz the instant they land, they're gonna start 'bathing' and all the little unseen bacteria will be flicked off in all 4 directions.
I don't know what these hissing cockroaches are like cuz I've never seen one in S'pore but you should should clean their enclosures as often as necessary. |
