I had been offered a job yesterday and was told to go down and sign the letter of offer next friday. I was thinking why is there a need for so long and secondly, during this period of time (from now till i sign the letter of offer) will they withdraw the offer? |

Some companies may take a little longer for the letter of appointment, and technically, yes, they still do reserve the right to withdraw the offer so long as you have not sign it. However, if this is a reputable company you are talking about, then most likely the withdrawal is not going to happen. I don't think many companies will want to tarnish their reputation.

And i was told that she will not be free this coming friday to meet up with me to sign the appointment, she asked me to come down on sat. She stated that she will be busy with lots of meetings this week and she is only available this sat. Is this the way family business was run? Do you guys think they will pull out any stunts again? |

You mentioned this company is a family business? Hmmm..... My brother is working in a family-run business too, and boy, it's not easy!
I don't know..... it seems to me that this company is not in urgent need of a staff.... I seriously think you might wanna reconsider, and perhaps have an alternative job on hand.
