I saw the poster was taken off frm somerset MRT ydae.

In my opinion,
it's just a costume, it may look like copying,
but think again,
what's the message in the poster or the series of advertisements by ITE?

I must say, the particular 'stomper' is very shallow.

Nowadays, movies copy certain plots, music videos copying ideas from each other,
popular game 'guitar hero''s idea is similar from Japanese arcade game 'guitar freaks'..
(List can be long..)
But I don't encourage copying, of course.

So why the fuss~
Such comments can only do harm to the creative industry in Singapore.

copying itself is wrong... plagiarism is wrong... and that's that.

however, copying and making modifications would be good. in fact, i feel that this is what creativity is all about. see it is perfectly alright if you borrow an idea, that is if you modify it...

of course how much modification is considered enough we cannot determine. but the modification of the poster is obviously insufficient, since almost everyone can tell the great amount of similarities almost immediately

Plagiarism is wrong. Plagiarism is just like China producing fake products.

Plagiarism is copying your assignment/project and handed in as his/her own, and that student gets an A mark!

Do any people here really understand the impact of Plagiarism?

I heard that they 're-model' in 3D... sorta like what they can do with 3D to come up with the same/similar models as compared to Square Enix...
meaning that Singaporeans can also be comparable to skills of Square Enix...

well.. i'm not sure if it's true... if it is..then the student's 3D modeling skills is not bad at all

actually the 1st time i saw the pic, the 1st thing that came into my mind was lulu from ffx just that the face seemed to be that of the girl who did it.

but if you look at it in another point of view, this student MAY NOT be a design student, so it wouldnt be in her job scope to design a full character by herself, but maybe her job scope would probably be something like converting pictures from concept art into full 3d computerized graphics. ok this may not make sense since you are more or less expected to do all concept art yourself in the first place.

maybe ite can give an explanation on this.
