Default $$ issues for couples..

Am wondering how to couples manage their finances..For eg. having meals together outside, do you pay for your own just pay for both? Expenses (eg. watching movies)?

If both working and earning a comfortable pay, then maybe sometimes go dutch, sometimes girl treat, sometimes guy treat. =)

But if one is earning a starkly lower pay or not working, then the other party might automatically want to treat the former.. Tho have to be done in moderation lah...

(I had an ex in my poly days, who kept depending on me for treats, when I don't even come from a well-to-do family nor earn any income, except from tuitioning ppl)

Those who say they care really don't. Because those who do, don't need words to justify their actions.

since tis s in the $$$$ section, do u meant by financial plannin within a couple???
in case u r mistaken, insurance s not financial plannin in full...

For movies, etc, if it is a show my bf suggested to see, he pay for the tickets. If it is a movie I suggest to see, I would pay for the tickets.

As for meals, if we eat at restaurants, he paid. If we eat at food court or coffee shop, I paid cos he not cash-rich but card-rich.. always dun carry cash with him .

As for finance planning, too early to think about it no. Wait for after marriage bah.

Think it should be depending on earning power too, it's ok if you pay lesser, but never never din pay at all.

Well good thing he's an ex then.

As for myself, I pay most of the time, makan, movies, entertainment, holidays. My gf shares the costs by paying for these things sometimes, and by driving her car (petrol and parking) half the time when we go out cuz I'm lazy.

Well, it all varies from couples to couples.

Some gals preferred guys to pay for everything. But some gals preferred to go dutch. Some preferred taking turns to pay for each treat/meal.

For me, normally I would pay, unless my gal says she's paying today. But if we're to go to a restaurant instead of foodcourt, normally would take turns to pay.

my guy usually will pay for everything but sometimes i will initiate to pay half of it as i think its abit unfair for him. anyway, i'm working and he is not my husband. i don't require him to fork out every single cent from his pocket.
