liking someone means having interest only.
whereas loving someone means accepting that person as a whole, including her strengths and weaknesses. as wad uyen said, it involves commitment. | |

Love and Like are definitely two different kinds of feelings.
Like:- You may like a person, think about him 24/7 but you can still live without his presence.
- You may like a person, but you won't have the urge to be together with him/her.
- You may like a person, but you won't care for him/her totally. Like if he's drunk, you wouldn't rush all the way down from Jurong East to Tampines just to fetch him.
- You may like a person, but your heart is not fully occupied by him/her.
- You may like a person, but you still have a wide variety of boy-friends or girl-friends for you to choose from.
- You may like a person, but it might not even lead to you loving him/her.
Love:- When you love a person, you know that despite his/her flaws, you still love him.
- When you love a person, you know that even if he/she lies to you, you are still willing to forgive him/her (it depends on situations tho!)
- When you love a person, you will grab every opportunities to be with him/her and spend quality time together.
- When you love a person, even when you are brushing your teeth, his/her face still emerge in your eyes.
- When you love a person, all you see is him/her and no one else.
- When you love a person, you give it all out to what it takes to be with him/her.
- When you love a person, you try means and ways to make sure he/she is happy.
- When you love a person, being with him/her is the greatest moment you'd ever enjoy.
- When you love a person, wherever you go, you want him/her to be with you.
.. & the list goes on and on and on. 
Hence, Loving and Liking someone does make a difference. A great difference.

Like....hmm that's very general. I guess it differs according to the magnitude. I might say I like someone, but it could mean I like him as a person. It does not really mean I'm having a crush on him.

Like is difinately different from love.....
If I were to say "I like this guy".
Does it makes me a gay??? No right???
Like means :
1. To find pleasant or attractive; enjoy.
2. To want to have: would like some coffee.
3. To feel about; regard: How do you like her nerve!
4. Archaic To be pleasing to.
Love also can means different things :
1. A deep, tender, ineffable feeling of affection and solicitude toward a person, such as that arising from kinship, recognition of attractive qualities, or a sense of underlying oneness. Such as : We love our parents. I love my friends.
2. A feeling of intense desire and attraction toward a person with whom one is disposed to make a pair; the emotion of sex and romance.
3. a. Sexual passion.
b. Sexual intercourse.
c. A love affair.
4. An intense emotional attachment, as for a pet or treasured object.
5. A person who is the object of deep or intense affection or attraction; beloved. Often used as a term of endearment.
6. An expression of one's affection: Send him my love.
7. a. A strong predilection or enthusiasm: a love of language.
b. The object of such an enthusiasm: The outdoors is her greatest love.
8. Love Mythology Eros or Cupid.
9. often Love Christianity Charity.
