I don't really complain much. After travelling to other places, one will tend to appreciate their hometown more. I think our govt is quite good. They encourage us to be able to have what is important in our lives, food, shelter and an education.

haha very debatable topic, for once i would like to ask which country did u guys compared to on the taxes, economy and salary differences?? And it depends on wat type of society u live in, or maybe those never complain about our government are living in 5c's, and there are other thing that I like to touch on such as racial harmony which I cant.

About the Gst increase well I guess no one is complaining till it keeps increasing to a point where ppl start to realise that its to high. To me the $300 is juz a tool for the government to use as a cushion so ppl look away from the increased. What about cigarette prices?? Why the high prices on the other hand they want u smokers to quit(campaigns, contraband ciggs), the govt could always ban cig anytime.

I think you guys are focusing too much on the minor stuff such as GST hikes, high costs of living, etc.

Singapore has transformed greatly ever since it gained independence from Malaysia, and our government definitely had a big part to play. Look at the high standard of living, the modern economy, the world-class public transport and education systems. An incompetent government wouldn't allow for anything like that to ever occur.

Many people do not cherish what they have until they lose it. Similarly, many people may not realise how good our government is until it is gone.

We elect our government, the people who represent and govern the country. Thus we should definitely put our utmost trust with them, but what the government is receiving now is censure and complaints each time they make a minor policy change which is unpopular with the public.

We may be a small country in terms of geographical area, but we are an affluent first world country, and we have made our mark in the international arena, attaining international recognition.

So basically, change your mindset, be long-sighted, and view things in an objective manner. It's time Singaporeans abandoned the 'complain' mindset.

Govt is gd here, but i prefer a different lifestyle. Life is too hectic and competitive here. Always facing competition, always upgrading, always busy. Sg has got no resources so more and more foreigners will continue to flock here to compete with locals.

I dun like....and about singaporeans complaining too much. That might be becoz they are getting sick of the lifestyle here. Remember one of the national days, the govt emphasized on the theme "this is our home" to young people? They're worried more and more young Singaporeans migrate elsewhere.

well yes, competition is stiff. thats why the government is always encouraging people to constantly upgrade themselves. but a lot of ppl seriously, give up too easily.

their mindset? "oh competition so stiff, so many local and foreign talents, aiya cant beat them, so i migrate"

what the correct mindset (in my opinion) should be? "oh competition so stiff, so many local and foreign talkents, so i must work harder, and own them!! "

Singapore government is trying to push themself too hard
though they have chossen a good path where we can prosper
then come to forget that their onli resource is none other than human population

by looking at things in singapore
many singaporean are starting to leave their country to work for a better living outside of singapore.

Singaporean government has chosen a very path that hey rely on foreign talents
however they forgetten then singaporean themself are very easily insulted over this
when foreign talents comes to singapore and tkaes their position they tend to look at that person as a threat.

Sg government has actually chosen a risky path whr if one faces jus too many problems at ocne it will topple in jus mere secconds
however the path they chosen has no loop holes so far thkfully
but the education system is jus well done however
singapore education in the past were more succesful in terms overall

teenagers nowadays tend to be more hectic due to the changes in life style since the beginning of singapore

now studies become a distant to their life putting others infront
singapore old system were much better then before as their system was strict
now our senior citizen seems to think like wise tht when we were young we suffer too much

now our people are suffering just zilch and dunno the real meaning of suffering

jus voicing out singaporean governing is good
both ecnomy wise and education
