i see how my tutor n grand ma complain the prices of thing gone up.. den thought of the thing i learn in SS abt other govt.. and also in the newspaper..
it's quite true.. ppl here only complain abt small things like GST increase.. other country complain abt thing like food shortage lor.. we are actually lucky to have great leaders like lee kuan yew, goh chock tong . lee hiseng long.. lol.. ppl here dun realise tt.. they are like damn gd leaders la.. 40+ yrs nia make s'pore until so gd.. still not sastisfied.. keep complaining abt minor things..



u all got any opinions on this???

When someone is living comfortably, they will seek for more. Humans' greed can never be satisfied, we just have insatiable appetites for a better and "fair" life. When we receive the GST Offset package, did anyone complain "Wah kao, why must give us money???". We would gladly just pocket the money and zip our mouth. This is human nature, gotta live with it.

Yalo I agree. Bobian wan this kind of thing. If you compare to other countries, HK and Singapore tax rate relatively low liao lo. Other countries their tax are like so horrible that 1/5 of your salary goes to govt. (not CPF hor..is income tax) Isn't that worst?

well human can never be contented easily. They oways want the best and more..tts reality..but yes, i would say the our govt had done a great job all these years

huh.. well, things would be more expensive, cannot avoid, I rather they dun increase GST and dun give us offset package.

yea yea.. thats it.. ppl only think how not fair live is when govt increase prices.. they didnt think of other countries..
and i mean purs is a demand economy.. ppl like us control the price.. when demand goes up n supply gets low.. prices will go up for sure.. and vice versa..

When I first read your title, I thought it was another complain thread. (like those in other rubbish forum) I was wrong.

Indeed, one of my life's biggest blessing is to live in this country. With recent crime rate in M'sia, you cant help but felt blessed and safe here. 2 days ago, the police issue a stern warning to all passagers who dares to bash bus drivers. That shows they does not tolerate violence here.

I guess if we complain about the rise in prices and cost of living, we muz also remember that it happens everywhere. its the law of finance. You pay what you get.

Lastly, i recommend every young sgean to read up on Memoirs of Lee Kuan Yew, our founding father. You will then understand how Singapore can become what it is today.
