such questions often get rather 'standard' answers, because we're all still consciously aware of how we may come across to others even in cyberspace

personally, i feel that external beauty attracts people like bees to honey, but it's what's within that keeps them around. and yes, i think the external appearance of a person is important. i won't go so far as to say that 'beauty is important' because seriously, the notion of beauty is heavily discounted nowadays with the frequent reminders by the media of what is 'beautiful' and what isn't. that's the media's perception, which we can't help but adopt as our own.

ANYWAY, as i was saying, the external appearance of a person is rather important don't you think? whether you're well-groomed, whether your nails are cut, whether you slouch or otherwise, all these contribute to how people perceive you and ultimately react to you.

so just be proud of your appearance and carry yourself well. somehow, personality will shine through. i don't know how it works, really. but it does.

heh. as for the people who think they look good and hence put down those whom they think 'cmi', these are what i call nothing more than cheap vases. initially, they're nice to look. ooh, good to hold too. but once broken, you find that they were made of nothing more than cheap plaster. and with that 'made in china' stamp at the bottom that you missed the first time round you held it, dazzled by its beauty. (not slighting goods manufactured in china btw. haha.)

well maybe when people are younger,beauty will be everything,but as people grow up,matures and know what is life really about,beauty will start to lose its place and the underlying real qualities will then start to shine for them.
