Hello, i am trying to play with IR shell 3.80.Just dled it, but dunno how to do the firmware patch for 3.71. Got the instructions but i can't make any sense of it.


Got some ?? in my brain like
Where do i put the Eboot ?
How do i got to ms0 ?

Need a guru to explain these terms to me.

firstly, i need to confirm that you're on custom firmware... as this program will only run on CFW... for example 3.71 M33-2... let me know, n we'll work from there

ms0 is your memory stick... and to patch the file, you access the patch folder using your psp through the IR shell program.

well , i got 2 irshell installed in my psp, which makes it confusing, as i tried to run the patch files for one of the irshell but it didn't execute. But i tried to run the patch from the other irshell installed, the thing worked.
*Sweat* Thought my psp gonna bricked on the first try to patch

erm sorry to ask this, but how is it useful? i have installed it but i am totally noob about how to use it at all. i don't know how to open games with it(or is it not meant to do so?) i had followed the guide and patched it accordingly, btw i am using 3.9

Well u can use remotejoy and USBhostFS to output your psp display to your monitor. It's useful if u want to make a game video off your psp.

And i use it sometimes to view pdf files also.
To play your games, u need to exit to XMB , and launch the game iso from there.

juzu, u can actually play games through the IR Shell... juz need to run the patch through the IR Shell located at /irshell/patch/ , then find your relevant firmware. Also, just need to go into configurations and change the UMD mode. This will also enable you to take screenshots or play mp3 while in a game.

*Note* For 3.90 users, you will also need the latest update of IR Shell 3.8 which bypasses the firmware check, and has a patch folder for 3.90 M33. let me know if anyone needs a link for it... but remember, try Google first. It's always back if u discover things yourself first.

tens for the info ... i realised can increase cpu speed which is great ... but then i also learnt that going into configuration at start up also can do the job.... but my psp is confiscated by my gf le ... T_T no psp for some time i suppose.
