Heard from my friend that investment companies diversify the amt into many different investments...
I have bought Msia unit trust from DBS n regional fixed income fund from AIA. Both seem sluggish.
Don't really have much knowledge on these..Wonder if it is better to approach Investment companies, insurance companies or banks? |

For all its worth..personally..I think the safest bet..for the long term is to keep our $$ in the CPF (4% interest is kind of good..to me..) but if you have a concern for the short- term..say between 5 to 10 years..and if you have $$ to spare..try approaching investment firms/institutions that deals in ETFs or REITs..so far..good performance indicators from these 2 investments platforms. Look for insurance companies to buy insurance
Look for investment companies to invest

Please do not think that way. Your money can definitely generate more income den the 4% PAP is giving you. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. Why do i say that? If you've been looking carefully, the 3% given by bank is not enough to pay for the inflations!
I mean, why should we invest then if we had a small amount?
I suggest you go for shares/bonds.
In fact, gold is a good choice too. |

Be it long or short terms.
Shares = 10% - 20% return
Bank? = 3%
Compare it yourself |

For CPF, aim for long term, anytime is a good time.
The most impt factor is which region u will like to invest.
The safest bet for the next 10yrs will be China, India, Hong Kong, Singapore.
Generally on the safe side, can invest in Asia funds or emerging markets funds, or if u have bigger appetite, more high risk n narrow focused, aim for a specific country.
Eg China, Singapore etc.
Unless u need to buy property with CPF, its as good as dead money after 1 Apr.
Who believe in their 4%pa when the inflation is now pegging to 7-10% ? To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

When investing..to me..its about 2 factors..How long your investment horizon?..and what is your risk appetite?
People talk about inflation..?..but people dont talk about cashflow management..managing your $$ income and expenses..? I believe the latter is more crucial.. Talks on inflation is only for people to whine about with no actual action. Do not get sucked into the mentality that inflation is rising, nothing can be done.
As for guaranteed returns, you need to consider risks. I guess probably nobody can recommend you anything because they can't guarantee risks. To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater. You currently have 0 posts.: Asia Solution Kenetics

Either you made it or you burn.
However, if u play it long term, you'll definetely earn.
