A STOMPer is unhappy with a local institute for lifelong learning for making international students study in container classrooms.
The STOMPer sent the photos of the containers of the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS).
"Poor quality of a private school (MDIS) teaching their international students in containers. They pay for a nice comfortable classroom, not containers with an awful smell," the STOMPer said in an email on Dec 14.
STOMP contacted MDIS, which said there are four such "mobile classrooms" at its Queensway campus.
"This is a temporary arrangement. We have had a surge in student numbers recently, mainly from the region. We are trying to get new training facilities within half a year," a spokesman said.
"Such mobile classrooms are also being used by other schools," the spokesman said.
"The smell was there initially but it is gone now. We got the air quality experts to check on the smell and they have said the smell was not harmful to students. The air quality meets all environment standards," the spokesman said. http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/si...t.jsp?id=11227

Make them look like they are more interested in earming more money than providing an education service |
