The National Environment Agency (NEA) says the area recorded the largest ever and longest running dengue cluster for 2006.
A total of 49 cases were reported at Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 since October 18.
Bukit Batok East Avenue 5 also has the most number of breeding sites inside homes.
NEA adds that there have been another 11 cases at nearby Bukit Batok Street 52 since November 24.
Over 50 officers were deployed to search for breeding sites there in order to break the transmission cycle.
They combed the vicinity three times, visiting some 3,352 households and common areas.
Some 100 Aedes breeding habitats, with over 2,400 larvae were found and destroyed in 96 homes.
Sweeps at surrounding areas outside the cluster turned out another 39 breeding sites.
NEA urges residents to be vigilant and remove all stagnant water from their homes. – CNA/so | | | | | http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stori...249769/1/.html To view links or images in signatures your post count must be 10 or greater.
