Indonesian maid charged with murder of 70-year-old employer SINGAPORE : An Indonesian maid has been charged with the murder of her 70-year-old employer.
24-year-old Tri Lestari allegedly killed Choy Ah Moy on August 19 between 1.15am and 9.05am.
Madam Choy was living with her youngest son and his wife at Block 23 Jalan Membina. She was found dead, face up, on her bed.
Lestari, who had been working for only about 10 days, was nowhere to be found.
She was subsequently arrested on August 20 at the Tiong Bahru Food Centre.
Neighbours and friends describe Madam Choy as jovial, but she has been known to be unwell.
They said Lestari was employed to care for her, but the two could not communicate.
The case has been set for further mention next Wednesday.
If convicted, Lestari could face the death penalty. - CNA /ls |
