Fool

This is a school-based competition. We are supposed to compose a narrative prose of length 150 words (±10 words). There is no specific theme, instead there are triggers, at least 2 of which must be employed in the composition.

(1) A face at the window
(2) The sound of a bird (any bird)
(3) A ticket
(4) A locket

Anyone has any ideas? 150 words is really short... so I'm not sure what to write :shifty3:

hmm probably u may want to talk about, recieving a love token from your gf/bf, which is a locket.Upon hearing a couple of bird chirping loudly, repeatedly from some distance away from you which doesn't sound like the usual brid chirping. You saw some kids tried by all means to knock a bird nest off from a tree.

Since you have only 150words to spare, probably u may want to focus mainly on the mischiefs of those kids.Probably not common acts, like throwing stones. But maybe throwing lighted match sticks? its up to your imagination.
You tried to stop them, and soon realised your efforts were futile. Somehow, u may want to have an ending which involves you losing your locket in an attempt to help it, be it a good or bad ending.
The bird realises your kindness and somehow found your locket. It returned the locket back to you, before dieing right before your eyes due to injuries and fatique.

lol something like that? =P You could find inspirations from here anyway if it doesn't suit to your liking lol. you may not want to add the other 2 triggers in, as said, you have only 150 words lol.

I woke up to the sound of noisy crows chipping at my window

Not wearing my glasses, i stick my face at the window, glaring down at the birds with much anger and furiousness.

Day after day, the same things happened, sleeping in the wee hours of the morning and only to realize that 4 ~ 5 hrs later, i was woken up, not by alarm but the sound of noisy crows. I even though of making scarecrows to scare them off, that time slot just couldn't find a way into my hectic schedule of both school and work.

I also had informed those government organizations, in hope that they would do something about. But it just didn’t happen.




Well. i cant think of anything more. lol. good luck. tell me if ur using this. hahahaha. i just wanna know. =D

one thing about essays i learnt during sec sch is.
DONT EVER EVERY TRY ghost story. serious.
my teacher said its no longer shocking if u see more than 5 ghost story in a row, become borin liao.
love stories also.unless u are very good in ur describing words.
ohya, and those tt ends wif "then i woke up in shock, phew, it was all a dream" -.-



a face at the window.
talk about a man or a child, that keep peeping in, at ur kitchen window. den u realised it is bcoz he got nth to eat tts why he always stare at ur food.
talk about kindness, talk about pity, talk about sympathy. talk about how the face at the window made u feel.


the sound of a bird.
if me, i will do Mocking bird. the name of the bird alone has many themes for you to explore in. the sound of a bird, can be compared, to the sound of someone LAUGHIN [meaning mockin] , like metaphor la.. play wif the words.

A ticket
think, WAD ticket?
concert ticket that u saved up vr long? onli to find out that day got another as important event, which do u compromise.
Movie ticket?
bus ticket to school? u forget to bring wallet. no money to pay for the ticket,u slip on to the bus as it was busy hour, u kanna scold by the person who check, in turn everyone stare at u, den one kind person went to pay for you, and handed u the ticket. tt thingy la.
ONE way ticket? this one more abstract bah, people usually buy one way ticket because they know they wont want to come back to this place anymore.think why lor.



A locket.
locket is like a lock, it can be represented by a knot in the heart.
something u cannot let go off. TRY NOT TO TURN IT INTO A OH SO ROMANTIC love story hor. LOL.





one thing i always do is to end my compo wif a question, a quote, a saying
or an idiom..eg for kindness, something like "“Kindness is a language which the deaf can hear and the and the blind can see”
for mocking, things like "To laugh at men of sense is the privilege of fools.”
because the story is short,
everything is important, but the ENDING is most important.
leave impression.

If you are able to, write something inspirational. Inspirational stories sells.

One story I like is this:

Every article has to have one of these 3. To Inform, To Persuade or convince , To take action. Chose your topic, your strategy and your point. 150 words can only make 1 point...dont go too far.
