haha no .. i'm thinking tat person must be thinking SLS is the cheapest place to go for electronics like cam .. he doesnt know Audio House gives a better price.. and is more reputable for tourist as compared to SLS.. as we locals know going to SLS is the "BEST" | |

i think you could've been more diplomatic. recommend alternatives to them, but leave it to them to make their own decisions. the way you said it, it's more like you're discouraging them from going to SLS.
not all retailers in SLS are like dat, so your statement is dubious. some retailers in SLS do have the acknowledgment from CASE for excellent service and recognition in pricing and reliability. by saying bad things about SLS, you are also pulling these good retailers down.
in our business, we are taught to sell our strengths to our customers, but we dun badmouth our competitions. we leave it to the customers to determine for themselves. Normally I also but from SLS for DSLR cameras and accessories but I do my homework first. Since I use nikon, clubsnap has a priceguide submitted by members who recently bought it. That includes the date, shop and freebies. This can really help with the bargaining power and since this is available online, any tourist can check it provided they know how to check. The savings can be $100 to $300 from retail price (Best Denki, etc).
But you did nothing wrong to offer your opinion and the person who asked you not to kpo is kpo himself and probably have personal motive. If the tourist follow your advice, then it means they are typical tourist who is waiting to be cheated so you did the right thing. If they did not, then perhaps they know what they are doing ... or they deserve to be cheated. | |
