im upset.. my cat is in critical condition - Singapore's Online Community

i dunno if this is the correct forum to post this.. but i dunno where else to post.

yesterday, my cat, louie, fell from the 7th storey when he was trying to play with my other cat. i sent him to the hospital immediately. louie was in sooo much pain. he cannot even be touched.

everything just happened so fast. he was playing with my other cat and i went to the kitchen to get from snack for them. then suddenly he just fell.

the vet took some xray and found that there are blood in his lungs, his front legs' bones are shattered. he might not make it through the night. but he did, he breathing has improved. but now, we have to worry about internal bleeding as it doesnt show up till 2-3 days. so this week is a critical week as he might just go anytime.

louie is so brave... trying to fight for his life.. but me.. being a lousy owner is so upset and negative. i cant control myself yesterday in the hospital. so today, i dont even dare to go visit louie. im afraid that my mood might upset his fighting spirit. he is such a fighter.. and he is only a year old.

wad am i suppose to do? if i see him i cant control myself, but if i dun.. im also going to go crazy. if he doest get better, that means i must put him to sleep. how am i going to do that? what am i going to tell him, that im going to put him to sleep?

reali sad to hear abt it... well, wat u can do is to b strong n dun give up... trust ur little louie, he wun wanna leave u for sure...

And dun reproached urself for wat had happened, we all noe nobody want this to happen... n u r nt a lousy owner for sure. U r so upset abt it n so worried abt louie show that u reali care abt him, prove that u love him alot.

Life is full of ups and downs. All you can do now is to stay by his side and give him support. Cry if you like. Tell your kitty in your gentlest voice that you will always be there by his side and assure him. If he can have that spirit, so can you! He's fighting so hard for his tiny life! Go on and shower him with love and warmth. Overcome this obstacle together with him. Trust me, your support alone can make miracles. (: God bless your kitty and you dearie. another shitty thing happened... cause the cat was given to me by my ex as he is leaving the country with his new gf to the USA to study. so i still respect him as half an owner, thus i told him the bad news.

his reply was (i'll cut short in main pt):
1) why you open the window? cannot on air-con meh? (he is a rich indo chinese guy)
2) he say, if he were in singapore, he would report me as cat abuse
3) he called me a lousy bxxxx, a fagxxx and many other names
4) he said that he has the right to call me names cause he paid for the cat
5) he said im not being responsible for the cat cause im denying the blame (which i am not, cause i repeatedly apologise to him and i told him immediately when the accident happened)
6) he said the cat better be ok, cause he paid $3k for it.

im already hurt enough from the accident.. and now, he treats me like this.. hai~~ maybe i shouldnt have told him?!

Give love to your cat!!! Your jackass bf dont need love. You'd be much better of loving your cat. So what he paid 3k for louie? Not as if he took care of it. Since he has the rights to call you names cuz he paid for the cat, you have the right to tell him to F off to USA and never come back. Anyway i wish louie all the best!! Do you have a pic?? I would like to see him.

Throw your dumb ex away. he is after all your EX and he didnt even take care of the cat so that dosent make him the owner AT ALL. your cat respects the person who takes care of him and NOT the person who PAID for him.

Oh btw, my dog's in crucial condition now as well. I was just informed today from the vet the results of his blood test he took yesterday. He has a serious case of kidney failure and most likely would be fatal. Lets overcome this obstacle together and hold on tight to our furkid's lives. (:

good news.. louie is healing pretty fast. he was able to eat on his own yesterday. although he need help after a while cause he was in pain. the vet has sucked out some of the blood in his lungs so he is able to breath on his own now.

the kidneys and intestines and stomach are all fine. the only worry now is the abnormality in his liver. suspected liver tramua. im counting down the days. as long as he make it through this week, he should be fine. so, so far so good. but i still have to be prepared...

i feel sorry for the cat, as a cat lover myself and yet cannot keep cats in my house due to my ah ma.
i wish that your cat can recover fast.
but if there is really no hope left, as in the internal bleeding is too serious. i would suggest that u put it to sleep since its the only way to stop the pain its suffering from.
