i was shocked when i first joined sgclub and clicked on the forum "Pets Marketplace"

there are actually forummers selling pets that are deemed illegal in singapore.
its quite shocking to see what lengths people would go to to earn money.
they are actually smuggling animals into singapore.
and there are actually people who want to buy them.

have sellers/buyers ever considered how this pets are going to survive in singapore?
i should doubt so.
for once, smugglers don't even care what happens to this poor animals.
it was on a news that they discovered a snake stuff up a exhaust pipe while the smugglers are trying to bring it to singapore.
its such a sad thing to hear.

buyers! do listen up.
singapore AVA banned these animals for a reason.
it would most probably be that:
1) they are unable to survive in this country (eg. climate, food cycle etc.)
2) they may upset or destroy the habitat in singapore (eg. releasing certain turtles into reservoirs)
3) harmful/poisonous/dangerous (eg. blue ring octopus)
thus, it would be best to avoid getting into trouble by not buying/rearing such pets.
and of course, to NOT destroy innocent animals.
do spare a though for them. they are living creatures too..

The way people bring animals this way in not torturing them purposely,but becoz they don want to be caught.snakes and lizard ARE already a widely legal popular pets world wide!U may still think its crazy.But its more popular than any pet u can.Even parents bought their kids to buy one.Its not kidding!
Yeah,it still wrong to keeping illegal pet now,but not in the future i pormise.Singapore is always far lagging from the others.How do you know those exotic keeers arent taking care of their pets? They spend as much money for their pets husbardry like dogs.And if they don release to the wild,its not affecting the eco system at all.Ifs hard for you to believe that snakes and lizard is harmless.But if you put aside ur baseless perceptiveness can do some study on this pet trade. you will be smarter than ava! Now u think the animals are dangerous ans suffering,many years later once it illegalise,are you going to oppose ava also? Perhap all of you are keeping one also.Do some study before u male baseless fact!None of you going to be lawyer rite?Lucky for you!

You guys are not listening or understanding the main issue.

It is still ILEGAL to sell/trade in prohibited animals.

The care of the animals aside, You CANNOT justify BREAKING THE LAW with your own self justifying thoughts. If you really WANT to keep an exotic pet, PLEASE get the proper licence BEFORE you import or rear them

So many times people disregard the law and when caught and brought to task, ask for second chances and say "i regret my actions". Why do you have to wait till you are in trouble BEFORE you realise that you are doing something wrong and admit to the same?
